Do to my previous hatred of Eminem, I saw your post for this vid on the vidding community and let it go.
Thanks much in part to linzeems's harassment and sisabet's constant influence of rap, I finally downloaded this video.
I'm not sure there are enough words to express this video. By the end of it, I *got* Brian Kinney in a way I never had before.
In the beginning of the video, it's a game. He says whatever he has to do to get Justin into his bed. It's all about the fuck. And then he moves on, moves on to the next fuck. But he finds himself going back to Justin, fuckin Justin again. Pushing him away, pulling him back... it's a game. Just a game, just for fun.
Then it becomes serious. It's still a game, but more is at stake. Brian sends Justin off to Ethan, because he doesn't want to want Justin. At the same time, he knows it won't last with Ethan... so he isn't really losing Justin. It's a safe bet that Justin will be back to him... that they'll fuck again.
Then Justin learns the game and starts to play it back. The want becomes stronger, but Brian can't handle it. He's not supposed to want just one person. All he wants is Justin and he's disgusted with himself. That's not what his plan for himself was. he hates the want, he hates the desire, but he has to have Justin there. It's this internal push and pull that is tearing him apart. Brian Kinney can't want just one man. That's not the way it was supposed to be. But now it is and it's wrong. He's dirty, he's wrong, but he can't change it, he can't stop it and he has to go with it. He's got to find the balance.
I am so impressed with the way this went. And I have such a better understanding of Brian's character and a different appreciation for the Justin/Brian dynamic.
