WTF is this bullshit about people making sad, pathetic, SEXIST knockoffs of Mr. and Mrs. Smith?

First Katherine Heigl makes the travesty that is Killers.

Now Cameron Diaz makes yet another travesty in Knight and Day.

Seriously, how much of a douchebag does a producer/director/writer have to be to look at a movie like Mr. and Mrs. Smith and think to himself -- 'Lets replace the strong female lead with a helpless dumb blonde'?

Because no one wants to see an action/comedy with a competent female lead in a romance that's actually based on mutual respect. We all know what a terrible *failure* Mr. and Mrs. Smith was at the box office. Clearly what that movie really needed to be a success was DAMSELS AND CHAUVINISM.

NOW THERE'S A BLOCKBUSTER.

Yeah I kind of didn't like Knight and Day for that reason alone. I could not figure out at all why the good guy liked this woman???? All she did was run around screaming.

Believe it or not, the trailer for Killers looked even worse, if that's possible. Then again, I expect this sort of thing from Katherine Heigl.

Cameron Diaz, on the other hand, I am deeply disappointed in. She's better than this. She's Princess Motherfucking Fiona. Why, why, why would she agree to do this movie?

My theory is that she didn't read the script before she signed the contract???? :( But yeah I was also wondering what she was doing in this movie????

I think Diaz was just desperate to get a blockbuster to put her back on track.

Both Killers and Knight and day are just remakes of Bird on a wire (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099141/), which I like better because Goldie Hawn played a straight ditz, without insulting the audience by pretending she was really a tough girl.

I also think Diaz isn't doing herself any favors by doing whatever she's doing to keep a 16 year old body underneath her 37 year old head, but that's neither here nor there.
