Naruto: The Illustrated Guide; Part 1
May. 26th, 2005 07:10 pmSorry for the lateness. This will take a while if you're on dial-up.

Introducing Naruto
The series begins with a sort of prologue. We learn, as I described in my previous post (see: here), who and what Naruto is.

nine tailed fox demon (the flaming comes later) / ninja seal, for capturing the demon

baby Naruto -- notice the seal on his stomach
Once all the history is out of the way, the series jumps to present day. Well, not really present day, but I'll call it that for simplicity's sake. Naruto is now a 12 year old boy on the verge of graduating primary school.

complete with Lisa Simpson hair

awww, innie cute?
As part of his final exam, he must show his ability to transform. Everyone else in his class shows this by transforming into their instructor. Naruto shows this through a technique he invented, which he calls "the seduction technique."

before / after
Why yes, I DO have a genderbending kink! How on earth did you guess?
Introducing Sasuke and Sakura
Aaaaaah, good old episode 3.
Enter Sasuke.

mmmm...pensive Sasuke

his milkshake brings all theboys girls to the yard

somehow, I'm not getting a real reciprocal vibe here
Naruto jumps in for a closer look to see why everyone else finds Sasuke interesting. Of course, he himself has no interest in Sasuke. He just wants to know whatTHIRD WHEEL Sakura sees in him.

...uh huh

lets see that again in POV; sadly, constipated is not a good look for Naruto
Naruto and Sasuke proceed to give each other the eyefuck of doom.

DOOM, I tell you

I still can't believe this is an actual screencap
Spectators are not happy about this.

really not happy

maybe I was wrong in crossing out boys earlier
Not everyone in the room is wrapped up in this. The kid in back of Naruto, for example, is off having a conversation of his own.

he swings his arm back and bumps Naruto

guess what happens next

seriously...guess
This is the part where I died.

and died and died some more

awwww, innit cute?
And again, in manga view.

They proceed to act as though the other has cooties, oblivious to the spectatorship of their classmates.
