Good knews -- I found my meal card. It was where I suspected I lost it. I was visiting a friends room and it slipped behind a bunch of boxes. We had to dig under a box or two and pull out a suitcase to get it. I can once again purchase food. Food rocks! I watched PotC again, and managed to fix a discrepancy in one of my PotC fics after watching the movie. *Love* that movie.

Sadly, that's where the good news ends.

Long story. It all began Friday, you see, when I thought all my troubles with physics were over. Then my physics tutor failed to show up for our tutoring session. She had suggested one on Sunday, but when I sent here an e-mail, she did not respond (I blame my e-mail service, as some of my messages have failed to reach her in the past). I made the decision that I would just be satisfied with turning in a bad problem set. As long as I have a chance to go over the material with her and learn it before the final, I'm sure I'll pass the class. After all, if I do well on the final, no one can claim that I haven't learned the material, and the powers that be will have to give me credit for the class.

There is still the matter of finishing the problem set, however. I have logically deduced that four hours should be enough time to do all the problems I am capable of doing. The rest I won't concern myself with until I manage to actually have a meeting with my currently M.I.A. physics tutor. Yes -- about those four hours. You see, I originally intended to give myself a two hour buffer and start my homework at 3:30am (my class is at 10:00am). I discovered at 3:30 that I had left my book in the building where I have my classes. I decided I would have to go get my book. I looked at up the temperature and found it to be 60* Fahrenheit, which is warm enough to not require a jacket, but I decided to wear a jacket anyway. This turned out to be a wise course of action, as when I stepped outside I realized that it was raining.

So there I was, walking approximately a mile in semi-cold rain down empty streets at 4:00 in the morning. Good times, good times.

When I came back, my clothes were soaked and my tea was cold (this time, it was a combination of Earl Grey and Honey Lemon). That was perfectly fine, though -- I do have a microwave to deal with such occurences.

Oh wait, one more piece of good news. I've fallen in love with Tori Amos' song "Winter." It's lovely. It's deep. It's got great lyrics.

"Winter" by Tori Amos

Snow can wait
I forgot my mittens
Wipe my nose, get my new boots on
I get a little warm in my heart
When I think of winter
I put my hand in my father's glove
I run off
Where the drifts get deeper
Sleeping Beauty trips me with a frown
I hear a voice:
"You must learn to stand up
For yourself
'Cause I can't always be around"

He says when you gonna make up your mind
When you gonna love you as much as I do
When you gonna make up your mind
'Cause things are gonna change so fast
All the white horses are still in bed
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change, my dear

Boys get discovered
As winter melts
Flowers competing for the sun
Years go by
And I'm here still waiting
Withering where some snowman was
Mirror, mirror
Where's the Crystal Palace
But I only can see myself
Skating around the truth who I am
But I know, Dad, the ice is getting thin

When you gonna make up your mind
When you gonna love you as much as I do
When you gonna make up your mind
'Cause things are gonna change so fast
All the white horses are still in bed
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change, my dear

Hair is grey
And the fires are burning
So many dreams on the shelf
You say I wanted you to be proud of me
I always wanted that myself

When you gonna make up your mind
When you gonna love you as much as I do
When you gonna make up your mind
'Cause things are gonna change so fast
All the white horses have gone ahead
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change, my dear
Never change
All the white horses
