I downloaded One Piece eps. 91-110 while I was gone. I watched about half Sunday night, and half yesterday morning.
Then I wrote a bunch of Luffy/Nami hentai.
Then I read a bunch of Harry/Draco fic.
I am so not on task.
I have some sort of dirty weakness, though, for Luffy/Nami. I love the pairing. I think because it reminds me a little of Sanzo/Goku and of Naruto/Sasuke. And by a little I mean a lot, really.
Luffy has the whole Goku Syndrome going on like whoa, by which I mean the whole wide eyed overexitable obnoxious ridiculously strong freak of nature thing. Come to think of it, I don't think I addressed the ridiculously strong freak of nature aspect enough in my Goku Syndrome post (see here).
He's a guileless wide eyed naive teenager. He might come across to some as younger, emotionally, than a teenager. This could be a turnoff for me, but it isn't. Why? Two reasons. The first is that Luffy, while emotionally immature in some ways, is oddly mature in others. He has the skinny awkward build of a teenaged guy, yet moves as though he is completely at ease with his own body. He understands his own weaknesses and is not afraid to admit to them or to depend on others when he needs to. I could go on, but I'm trying to keep fangirling to a minimum here, and most of my.
The second reason is that nothing phases Luffy. Ever. Anything that freaks the shit out of anyone else, Luffy responds to with a wide eyed grin and an exclamation of "OMG SO AWESOME!!!1!" I can write a sex scene with him and never feel like a dirty old woman traumatizing the wide eyed innocent boy because said boy is un-traumatizable.
Luffy would see sex as the coolest thing ever. It would never even really occur to him that many bad things could be associated with sex because, well, sex is awesome, and if you fuck it up or use it to hurt people/whatever, it's not sex anymore. At least, this is how Luffy views piracy. Pirates are great adventurers of the sea who love freedom. Pirates who hurt people and plunder are not true pirates.
Okay, so it's not automatic that Luffy would see the two the same way, but I can draw that conclusion in fic without anyone accusing me of being out of character, and since I can, I will. There are only so many situations wherein a fanfic author has the opportunity to write angst-free first time sex.
The main problem, now, is not whether Luffy can handle sex, but whether he can make it enjoyable for his partner. This is where Nami comes in.
Nami is a genius navitagor. Nami is the most emotionally mature person on the crew. Emotional maturity/emotional immaturity. It doesn't work, right?
But here's the catch -- Nami has very little in the way of scruples. Everyone on the pirate crew owes her money. She goes out of her way to trick them into owing her money. Here we have a woman who loves her crewmates and yet, (and it seems oddly contradictory), loves taking advantage of her crewmates. That is, as long as it doesn't actually hurt them (it might piss them off a little).
Nami would totally use Luffy as her regular orgasm supply. Hell, she's not hurting anyone. He gets off, she gets off. Okay, she might have to smack him in the head a few times before he gets the job done right, but the kid has good instincts, so chances are he'd learn what to do pretty quick. And he has boundless energy. And he's pretty obliging.
No need to worry about whether or not Nami gets hers, because Nami always gets hers. She's probably the best person on the pirate crew at making sure everyone else gets their jobs done and gets them done right.
Did I mention that Nami is awesome? I don't think I did.
