So I spent the afternoon making my pretty new FLCL icon. Unfortunately I had to cut out a lot of the icon because it was over 111kb, and 40kb is the largest lj allows. I actually managed to make two other icons out of what I cut out from this current one. I'll be posting them in [livejournal.com profile] animeicons tomorrow.

Tonight was apple pie night for my study group. My physics teacher makes what is undisputedly the best apple pie in the world (see the subject of this journal entry). I chatted with some friends and we complained about how insanely hard the homework was. I finished my physics this morning (I started it earlier this morning). I ended up sleeping for about three and a half hours. I really should waste less time. In any case, the physics wasn't too hard. Thankfully my teacher had already gone through all of the really bad problems, so with the aid of my class notes I was able to do the homework without an exhaustive amount effort.

Is exhaustive a word?

Eh -- probably.

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes -- I feel the need to inform everyone who might read my lj that I have the best chem teacher on the planet. He's rocks. He's splendiferous. And I'm sure that's not a word -- I only say that to emphasize my point that conventional vocabulary cannot describe him. Today we covered Heisenberg, and his discovery of the uncertainty principle (which states that it is impossible to determine both the velocity and position of a subatomic particle; the closer you get to measuring out the velocity, the more uncertain measurements of position become and vice versa). Apparently Heisenberg figured all this out when he was 23 years old and on vacation.

Man, if I were that smart...

...I'd be really fucking smart.

But I digress.

You see, I couldn't have cared less about Heisenberg until today, when my chem prof. said these words:

"Heisenberg sounded the death knell of determinism and marked the ascendency of a probabalistic universe. There's no more chicken and egg! There's chickenality. There's eggness."

Don't you just want to read that line out loud? Say it. Feel it roll off your tongue. Then write it down, because you don't hear shit like that every day.

You only wish you did.
