Friday Five
Nov. 5th, 2004 02:09 pmJust realized I forgot do do the Wednesday five. Mea culpa, etc. Anyway, here it is now, tardy (I like how tardy includes the word "tard" right there in the spelling) with a slight change in the itinerary due to the auspicious nature of this week.

Summary: Lex Luthor it the president. He's still in love with Clark. No rift -- they just kind of grew apart. Danger. Jealous exes. Reminds me of a soap, only with better dialogue. NC-17; 115 KB
Why I love it: It's the perfect fic to forget your election-related woes with. It's better than the title would have you think. Well written, well characterized, etc. Nice feel-good fic. Good to curl up and drink hot cocoa with.
The Wish bybitmaxmouse
Summary: Lex broke up with Clark, convinced that Clark was better off without him. Years later he finds himself miserable. He makes a wish and finds himself in an alternate universe -- the world that might have been. Slight crossover with BtVS, but not enough that you need to be familiar with the fandom. R; 130 KB
Why I love it: Another feel-good fic. The characterization isn't perfect, but it's an interesting story, well plotted. A pretty daring premise, and I think the author pulled it off well.

Such a Pretty Face by Abi
Summary: Clark is Lex's best friend. Lex is marrying Lois. Clark is friends with Lois. Clark is desperately in love with Lex. Clark will be happy for them if it kills him. Also, crossdressing. And angst. And it all turns out all right in the end. NC-17; 144 KB
Why I love it: Because it's wonderful. And I do mean that. Excellent characterization. When I said crossdressing I did mean plausible crossdressing. This fic features the best drunk Clark I've ever read (and that's plausible as well). I prefer Lex to Clark most of the time, but I absolutely adore this writer's characerization of Clark. Warnings: het sex, alien!biology (but don't let that scare you away).
Blue Always Knew and it's sequel, Indigo Is His Own byrhiannonhero
Summary: Futurefic. Rift? What rift? Clark and Lex are in love with each other and neither knows it. Much angst ensues. Then much sex. NC-17; 112 KB
Why I love it: Well written. Well characterized. Clark and Lex are big w00bies in the way only Clark and Lex can be. When it comes to relationship angst, this author really covers all the angles and presents a very believable story.
