You've all probably already heard about that whole this whole lj witchhunt thing. I fully agree with everyone's outrage. It's beautiful to see fans rallying together. Etcetera, etcetera.

But let not let this terrible situation distract us from what's truly important.

Fic Update

Excerpt ~

Maja gets a rental car, to Patrick's horror. He tells her as much.

"They gave you access to a motor vehicle?"

"Yes. Is that a problem?"

"When did you even have time to—? I don't even—"

He curls his hands into fists lest he give in to any undignified flailing. "Were they insane?!"

"I promise you I'm an excellent driver."

Patrick kind of wants to cry right now. "It's not that I think you're a bad driver," he tells her. "It's just that I think you're a bad person."

The image comes to him, unbidden, of a maniacally happy Maja, hands white knuckled around a steering wheel, yelling out "10 Points" as she knocks down hapless pedestrians. He really needs to stop playing Mario Kart.

Then again, if she's behind the wheel, Patrick doesn't have to worry about crashing the car if she shoves her hand down his pants when they hit a stoplight.

It's a sad commentary on his life that this thought is actually a comfort to him.
