I didn't get as much art done over the weekend as I'd hoped. BUT, as it was my birthday weekend, I treated myself.

See, for my birthday I bought myself shexxxxxxy dark brown ruched faux leather boots with the 4" heels from Wet Seal (the cheap assed club clothes store—CHEAP ASSSSSSSED).

And they are brown and beautiful and I have nothing to wear with them. So I think to myself—self, you must buy some clothes to go with them. But not much goes with dark brown calf high boots. Denim goes with boots. Nice dark brown boots mean nice dark blue denim. Calf high means I need something relatively short. I decide I want a mini skirt. I looked for some online, but the stores with decent catalogues either 1) don't have denim mini skirts 2) only had light blue denim 3) do the whole ripped hem thing that I hate deep in my soul because goddamnit, if my clothes are going to look worn, I will wear them out myself. I do not need the wear to be pastede on for me.

Well, I was going to school today to work on homework. I walk past lots of clothing stores on the way to my class. That particular building is right in the middle of downtown San Francisco. I went into Forever 21, remembered why I hate it there, then went into Urban Outfitters and found a whole rack of dark blue denim mini skirts, exactly as I'd hoped.

UO weirdly only sells odd numbered sizes, so being a size six, I grabbed a size five and a size seven and headed into the dressing room. They were $50 each, but whatever; it was for my birthday. I tried the five first, to see if I could squeeze into it. It was too big. The size inflation in the clothing industry is getting kind of ridiculous. KIND OF REALLY RIDICULOUS. At least it's good for my ego.

So I went back to the rack. There's one skirt in a slightly different (more flattering) style that I didn't try on before because they only had it in a three. But wonder of wonders, it fit me. And it was totally on clearance. Marked down from $50 to $10.

I win.

Right then. Back to my homework.
