But yeah, I know what you mean. The show writers couldn't have known about your particular shitty week, but they damn well should know what the overall media landscape looks like, who likes this character, and what the general response is going to be.
I'm going back to my m/m romance/urban fantasy series where it's safe, god damn it! (Actually, I should make a recs post for all the romance novel trash I've been reading lately. Some of it is pretty fun, and all of it is a lot less heteronormative and prone to killing people off than any of my tv shows.)
