Hey look -- I learned how to use an outside link!

Had a physics test today. I think I did better on it than the last time we had a test. My brain was completely drained by the time I got to my calculus class. I found myself just staring down at my notebook trying to remember what I'd just written. I'm sure the sleep deprivation wasn't exactly helping either.

If you're wondering why I haven't updated, I actually have a good reason. You see, I have about six hours of homework every weekday (I'm told things will get better once the school year starts). This means I only have time to write on the weekends, and by Saturday I'm far too mentally drained to get any constructive work done. In fact, I can't remember the last time I wasn't mentally drained.

I will get some writing done, though. I promise. In fact, in another two weeks I'll get a four day vacation, and during those four days I'm going to write the next chapter to Bitter Water, even if it kills me.

Let's just hope the work I'm being inundated with now doesn't kill me before then.

Okay -- I have to go. I need to write a 1000-2000 word argumentative essay on why gay marriage should be legalized in the U.S. by tomorrow. And do my chemistry homework. Oh, joy.

I long for sleep. I long for it. And when I think of how long I'll have to wait before getting any, I want to cry.

I'm sorry to hear that school has been so time-consuming - at least it will get better once college starts. And think about all the credits you're getting. ^_^

I'm planning on make a fic recs page for my site. It's revamped and it looks pretty - it's my pride and joy. ;)

Actually, I may not be getting credits -- depending on whether or not I'm flunking. I suppose there is still the alternative possibility of passing out of classes by taking entrance exams. If I pass entrance exams, my performance in these classes won't matter.

I very much liked the PoA Pics. Good stuff.

Unfortunately, I can't remember what font I used for the icons. I was using my sister's computer at the time, so I'd have to go back and check her word processor to see which font face looks like the one I used.

Just try to find a font that is short, relative to character width. Taller letters tend to take up too much space. Make sure that the letters are readable even when you make the font size really small. Writing in bold helps, (it's what I did), but sometimes writing in bold will actually make a font less legible since it makes letters more likely to run together. The border around the letters -- I pretty much had to do that by hand using Paint.

What I basically did was write out my words on my sisters word processor. I then pressed the button on the keyboard that says "prnt scrn" (print screen) and pasted the screen image to a Paint file. I pasted my icon image onto the same bitmap, and floated the words onto the icon image, then did the necessary outlining.

There's probably an easier way to go about all this. I'm pretty new to icon making. You might want to ask someone else. I know there are icon designing communities on lj, and if you look in my user profile you'll see that I'm a member of two of them. The people on those communities have more experience than I do.

I'm glad you liked the icons! I made them because I wanted to make a proper tribute to Anya after Joss killed her off in the series finale.

I'm currently waiting to hear if I got into English 102 or not, so I somewhat feel what you're feeling.

Need to get up at 7:30am tomorrow to go to the damn DMV. ARGH!

I'll try your icon making method, but I'm still searching for a good image to come by. So far, nothing. Blah...

How do I join a community and how do I search for one? I looked on the FAQ, but nothing. I found a community that helps you look for a community of your interest, but I have no idea how to post.

I am an idiot when comes to LJ.

If you're having problems finding pictures, I suggest you do a google image search.

If you want Anya/Emma Caulfield pics specifically, I found a few good websites. you can go here (http://www.geocities.com/btvsbt/) or here (http://www.ecaulfield.net/).

I get pictures, and then I tweak them on microsoft word. You can just paste the images there, brighten, darken, increase or decrease contrast levels, watermark, grayscale, shrink, enlarge, etc. Then all you have to do is click on "print screen" and finish your business using Paint.
