the goings on

I just got out of bed an hour and a half ago. Now, I actually woke up around 11:30am, but I did not get out of bed until around 3:30pm because I decided I would stay in bed and finish reading Ender's Shadow before getting up to do anything. Well, I wasn't really staying in bed in the sense that I was under the covers or anything. I was just sitting on it, or sprawling, lounging, etc. I must have changed positions dozens of times while finishing the novel.

My back hurts. My neck hurts. But I suppose that's what happens when I keep myself in uncomfortable positions and read in bad lighting without eating for four hours straight. Speaking of which -- rather hungry right now. Haven't eaten since last night. To eat, I'll have to get up and walk, which will probably improve my back ache, as well as the stiffening of various muscle groups throughout my body.

Still, I'm proud of myself. For once, I read an actual book. And a good book. Of course, it was by Orson Scott Card, and therefore a total mind job. Honestly, I think they should add "guaranteed to fuck with your brain" to all the summaries they put on the backs of his books. Anyway, it's been a while since I read anything that really made me think.



So something happened yesterday that got me really, really excited. I found One Piece fanfiction. More specifically I found long, well written, well characterized, and well plotted One Piece fanfiction -- the very definition of goodfic. Also? Really good sex scenes, complete with throatily groaned Japanese expletives. Okay, yeah, so I have this giant kink for people speaking foreign languages during sex. The fic I found is slash, of the Sanji/Zoro variety. I must say, I find this the most viable slash pairing for the show. Much to my delight, it also led me to a livejournal community and fanfiction archive devoted to One Piece slash (though I suppose this being *Japanese* anime, yaoi would be the more appropriate term).

Now One Piece is an interesting fandom. Really, the possibilities for kink are extraordinary. Here we have Zoro, the ultimate swordfighter. He's quick, and agile, and has many scars. And his style of clothing is rather unique. I'm feeling a plotbunny rising -- "Things That Should Never Be Done With A Waistband." We have Sanji -- the best cook in the world, or so he wishes to be. Bet he smells like all kinds of interesting food spices. Oh, and also, being that his hands are reserved for cooking, he does all his fighting with his feet. So, he's really, really good with his...feet. I'm telling you -- weird kink central. Don't even let me start on Luffy, the "rubber man." Nami has a tendency to distract guys with her tits and then knock them out. Imagine this violence carrying over into bed. Ussop. Well, he has brilliant aim. And a really long nose. And a wild imagination. That's just the main characters. Don't get me started on the villains.

But I suppose since none but two on my friends list have ever even heard of this fandom, I should stop talking about it. Suffice it to say, I found good porny slash for it, and it has put me in a good mood.
