So last night was...interesting.

I went off to watch anime with a friend at the anime club. We watched a few random valentines episodes, and they were all very cute and very funny. I know understand that Bottle Fairy is about a man and his tiny harem of magical women hoping to become life size. Fruits Basket ( I think this was the one) happily surprised me when it featured a woman whose voice was not up in the whistle tones. In another show whose name I don't recall, a woman made a younger man she had a crush on a giant chocolate sculpture of her naked breasts. And words failed me.

After a brief intermission, which involved eating some nice baked goods and drinking milk (not to self -- I know owe [livejournal.com profile] evenstarjuliet $14.75 plus the price of a third of a box of chocolate pocky). We then proceeded to watch a more serious anime. I'd call it an intelligent, fantastical yet at the same time modernday lesbian drama. It was like LotR in reverse. All these characters claiming to be straight, and yet they carry on all their meaningful relationships and spend all their time with other women.

Oh, it was a good show. But I can't spend too much time on a show with no male characters. I mean seriously -- I just can't. I start to go into withdrawl. And the unusually jiggly bosoms were getting to be very intimidating. I think for now I'll stick to One Piece and Prince of Tennis. I'd rather there be too much dick than too little.

On the whole Queer as Folk thing -- I'm still gleeful over the fact that GALE HAROLD IS COMING TO MY TOWN!!!!!@2!!!!1!!! *cues giddy music* I had a conversation last night concerning this matter. A friend IM'd me around 11:15pm and informed me, after half a bottle of wine and a pack of smokes, that Gale Harold is amazingly goodlooking in real life. She said something along the lines of:

"dude I'm so drunk
I love everyone
I'm happy for you babe
because he's HOT"

So I've been assured that it's not just the cameras making him look good. I truly am going to meet (arguably) the most beautiful man in the world. And Michelle Clunie and Thea Gill, who are also very cool. But OMG Gale!!!

And by the way, [livejournal.com profile] evenstarjuliet, I really must insist you let me drag you along. I know you don't watch Queer as Folk, but I'm in desperate need of a digital camera. I want very, very high resolution shots here.

One last thing -- I don't understand my sleep patterns. At all. I must have gone to bed after midnight, only to wake up at five something, go back to sleep, and wake up at six something. I think now that I wrote this I'm going to crawl back to bed again.

I truly am going to meet (arguably) the most beautiful man in the world There's no arguing about it - he IS the most beautiful man :) although actually it would be interesting to see what people thing in real life without all the make up and all that!

My sleep patterns suck as well, I can't remember the last time that I had more then 5 hours sleep, so I feel for you!

I briefly saw Gale live last year in Toronto (and amazingly restrained myself from acting like a crazy fan - really!) - and he's beautiful. You won't be disappointed.

Moreover - the man is really nice. I've read all about how some perceive him as standoffish. Truth is - he probably just likes his privacy - and deserves it like everyone else. I'd think in the situation of a DVD signing he'd be friendly - as meeting fans is part of the whole thing.

Have fun.

some perceive him as standoffish He has a right to privacy so I dont know why people are surprised that he doesnt want to be around people he doesnt know, I'd be exactly the same, and its well documented that he hates being in the public eye anyway, poor guy.

Im hopefully going to Toronto in Oct with a couple of LJ mates so hopefully with S5 I'll get to see him - and see for myself ;)

I know. I walked around and giggled and ran, but my boobs just don't do that. *grumbles*

I'd let you borrow my picture phone if I'm going too. I hate that I'm broke.

Have fun meeting Gale and make some squealing noises for me...but it might freak him out, so just make them in your head...

Oh, I'm recommenting to add this: I now live vicariously through you. *grins*

You realize, don't you, that you didn't actually correct the verb errors. You just replaced them with different verb errors.

I walked around and giggled and ran, but my boobs just don't do that.

Remember how I told you to be consistent with verb tense? Generally it's a bad idea to switch tenses halfway through a sentence.

I walk around and giggle and run, but my boobs just don't do that.

or

I walked around and giggled and ran, but my boobs never did that. (comma optional)

I'd let you borrow my picture phone if I'm going too.

I'd let you borrow my picture phone if I could go too.

or

I'd let you borrow my picture phone if I were going too.

And I'll definitely be making squealing noises in my head.

*bangs head*

See, I need you. I mean, who else is going to stop me from sounding like an idiot?

Shit, now I'm really late and it's raining outside and I just want to stay home and sleep. *whines*

That's what I'm here for, babe. ;o)

Well you could always stay home and sleep. Be heartless! Be strong! Be a bitch and say -- Fuck 'em!

hmm, I think I need an icon that say "be a bitch and say -- Fuck 'em!"

Well I'm not making it. It was weird enough putting my own quotes in an icon the first time. I'd prefer to quote other people.

Of course, you're free to make it yourself or have someone else do so.

;o)

Next weekend is my "play with GIMP or PhotoShop" weekend.

It should be fun.
