Oh, stuff.
Aug. 12th, 2004 11:12 pmHmmmm. Must find something to vid Coldplay's "Rush of Blood to the Head" to. Gorgeous lyrics. Gorgeous musical flow. Hmmmmm. *think, think, think* I'm sure there's a bunch of situations this song could fit to. I just can't seem to think of one.
Hee! Okay, Mr. Glass from Unbreakable. Anybody see that movie other than me? Works conceptually. Don't know if I could actually get enough clips together, though.
Oh, dude. Of course. *d'oh!* Fight Club. This is such a Fight Club song. Well, there's another vidbunny to toss in the bank and probably never make.
:D
Now I was also thinking of what it would be like to see a vid for Nirvana's "Something In The Way." Only I don't know how interesting the vid would turn out. The song is, like, about being depressed and bored.
Come to think of it, this could also work as a Fight Club vid. But...no. Must think of something else. Hmmmmm. Apparently hmmmm is my word of the night.
Now, see, the problem with good bands/artists is that you listen to a CD and you want to vid everything on it. I shouldn't say you. I. I want to vid everything on it. So I'm pointedly ignoring every song on the Coldplay CD except for the one I mentioned here, but now I'm listening to Nirvana and I'm like -- OMG everything! Everything must be vidded! Like, "Lithium" -- Memento (
permetaform came up with this one, actually). "Come As You Are" -- QaF S4 Justin. "Sliver" -- S1 Justin (this would be, like, the funniest, and quite possibly the most fucked up vid EVAR). Chances are I listen to any of their other songs enough times and I'll come up with something they could be vidded to.
I think I like coming up with vid ideas more than I actually like vidding. Huh.
Complete Vidbunny List
QaF:
"Come As You Are" by Nirvana -- S4 Justin, vigilante arc
"Sliver" by Nirvana -- S1 Justin, in which Justin is a brat, and Brian has to put up with him
"I'm The Mrs." sung by Anya in S7 BtVS -- Brian, B/J
I don't know that I really want to make any of these.
Jake 2.0
"Guys Like Me" by Aimee Mann -- Jake
"Sweet Mistakes" by Ellis Paul -- Jake/Diane
"In A Heartbeat" from the 28 Days Later soundtrack -- on the show in general
Still kinda wanna make the first two. Don't know about the third.
Movies:
"Lithium" by Nirvana -- Memento
"Spring Haze" by Tori Amos -- Butterfly Effect
"Cooling" by Tori Amos -- Latter Days
"The Chemicals Between Us" by Bush -- The Fast and the Furious
"A Rush of Blood to the Head" by Coldplay -- Fight Club
I want to make all of these. *le sigh* so far it looks like I'm really only going to make the BE one (currently stalled at 40 seconds) and the TFATF one (has had two or three false starts so far).
So I'm thinking about writing a meta piece on the difference between pimping a show at someone and pimping a fandom at someone. And I'm also thinking of writing a meta piece on the concept of a "cult classic" when you apply it to vids, as opposed to movies. Right now I'm feeling mostly lazy, but maybe later I will.
What else?
Oh, yeah. Real Life!
So I had two finals today. In a row. Both were all essay. I was basically writing for four hours straight. My hand was killing me. I think I did pretty well. The Classics final was kinda boring. The film class final was more interesting. One of my essays made me sound like a raving feminist (I'm a feminist, but I usually don't rave). The other essay was basically me arguing that Baz Lurhmann's Romeo+Juliet was, like, way gayer than the original play. I managed to include the term "ethereally pretty." The professor likes to read homoeroticism into everything, so chances are she'll enjoy that.
So...yeah. I have to pack now so I can move tomorrow. And also write an 6 page paper. Fun, fun for *everyone.*
One final note -- Vin Diesel is a sexy motherfucker.
