Bollix v. To throw into confusion; botch or bungle. n. Alteration of ballocks i.e. testicles.

Bollocks v. n. A phonetic variation of ballocks/bollix.

Bullocks n. Plural of bullock i.e. steer, alt. young bull.

Spell checks will often count bollocks as a misspelling. They will generally not count bollix or bullocks as misspellings. If you write bollocks, chances are a spell check will tell you to change it to bullocks. Now think for a second. Bollix. Bullocks. Which makes more sense as an expletive? The one that is synonymous with male genitalia, or the one that is synonymous with livestock?

Homophones n. Plural of homophone. Words that are pronounced alike even if they differ in spelling, meaning, or origin.
