Okay, so I'm in avoidance mode. Hardcore avoidance mode. I wrote a ficlet today to avoid my big fic project. I haven't been vidding. Instead, I found on a friend's friends list a woman reccing due South fic. I went to check if the reccer had written any. Turns out she'd written a lot. So I read all of her stuff, then went through her recc's folder and read all of the stuff there, then of the particularly good stories on her reccs list, I found those authors' websites and read all of their dS fic.

I read

seperis's SV WIP, which I swore to myself I wasn't reading until she finished it. Wah. And it's so good. And long. And unfinished. Check her most recent posts if you want to read it for yourself. Then

rhiannonhero recc'd some fic called Omiai by

rose_emily. She said right there in her post that it took her six and a half hours to read. And hey! Fun fact! We have the same reading speed.

I also read a rather long Eric/Stephen That 70's Show slash fic that

rhiannonhero recced. I've been devouring

maygra's Riddick/TF&TF crossover and OMG. Usually I'm incredibly picky about sex, but if you knew the characters she's writing and saw the scenario she came up with you'd know that there's just no way her fic could not be mindbendingly hotlikewhoa. Check out her most recent entries if you want to read that. And you do. Trust me. If you haven't seen the movies I suggest you go rent them for the sole purpose of reading her fic.

And thus have I further increased my encyclopedic knowledge of totally useless information.

Of course,

permetaform is an enabler, so I tell her this and she immediately reccs me another dS author (ETA: Turns out I already read this author and forgot). Oh yeah, and

rageprufrock finished her hella long Bruno&Boots fic, and even though I'd already read the first half, I read the entire thing through because I hadn't read the first half in a long while. I'm just gobbling up other people's food because I'm too lazy to cook for myself.

Speaking of food (bad segue! bad segue!), I think I might be losing weight. The co-op has, like, no food except flour and raw pasta and potatoes and bad tea. In addition to various condiments. And I refuse to pay for food because goddamnit the grocery that's close by is way overpriced. I've never drunk so much tea (bad tea) in my life. And, okay, I'm probably not losing weight, but whatever. I don't really care about food. I don't really care how much I weigh so long as my breasts stick out farther than my stomach. I care that I'm bored. Bored, bored, bored. Sooooooo bored. I'm striking up conversations with virtual strangers and I'm an introvert goddamnit, out of laziness more than fear of interaction, but an introvert still.

I'm trying to cut down on vid talk. No, not because it's boring to people (although it is and don't think I'm not aware of this) but rather because I sound totally pretentious, even to my own ears, when I discuss the subject. I had an IM conversation yesterday when I told someone, "I try to make my vids accessible on multiple levels." OMFG. Who talks like that?!? Don't even get me started on vidding aesthetics. Vidding aesthetics. Just the name of that topic sounds pretentious.

::shudder::

So where does that leave me? Uhm, well, insane, but that's not new. More importantly, where does that leave my unfinished, unstarted fandom projects? I dunno. Somewhere. I can't think about that. I'm too busy getting a monitor tan reading internet porn. Praise the lord Jesus for visine.
