writing ramble

lierdumoaI'm having issues with scene two of CrackFic. Which, by the way, I really need to come up with a name for, cause CrackFic isn't really working. The problem is in writing something amusing from the point of view of a character who just isn't amused. Not impossible. Hell, I've done it before. However...tedious. Oh, I'm such a whiner. I'm not really stuck. At least, I know where to start. But I don't feel like writing right now so much as writing about writing. Hence, this journal entry.
I have certain limitations when it comes to writing. I'm pretty sure I'm incapable of writing third person omniscient. I've tried, and it always ends up third person limited, which is especially unfortunate because if I'm trying to write omnicient it just comes out like I'm writing limited and randomly switching POV without warning. I have limitations on the speed at which I can write because I'm totally neurotic about wording. My brain is bureaucratic in a way. I'm too busy micromanaging my sentences to write quickly enough to ever be considered prolific. These odd proclivities give me an edge when writing porn and, occasionally, dialogue, and hinder me in pretty much everything else.
Meanwhile, as I'm worrying about scene two, my brain is trying to figure out all the different types of sex that are going to take place in scenes (n - 3) through (n + 1). And I still haven't really come up with a plot. I should probably do that before I really get stuck and this fic never gets finished and I never get my feedback high and many months later after I make my The OC vid all my newfound Saiyuki friends will have defriended me, muttering to themselves all the while how that bitch promised them some 393 goddamnit..
I should note, CrackFic is not 393. It's 58J, whose numerical significance cannot be truly understood unless you're one of the precious few people who got blabbed to.
Where was I? Fic. Yes. It's Hakkai POV. And I wrote him based off the Hakkai voice I read in The Thing It Names, but the more I read back over what I've written the more I think he reminds me of my little w00bie Severus from that dementor!Severus fic I started writing in HP a year and a half ago and never finished The more he also reminds me of my Randy from my QaF RPS. The more I begin to think that all my characters sound alike and really just sound like me and the only thing I know how to write is a Mary Sue.
So. Back to this entry, and me writing it, and drinking a very large bottle of grape juice because the store didn't have any pomegranite and my father spent many, many years pounding into my brain the importance of having antioxidant flavonoids in one's diet. An improvement actually, over yesterday, in which I had two fried eggs and a bottle of Pale Ale for breakfast (the industrial sized fridge has since run out of alcohol thanks to the heavy drinkers who decided to stay in my co-op over winter break).
Anyway, I'm sticking to my room today. I'll get some vidding done. I'll get some writing done. I'll try to repress my evil.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
adrienne2, for future reference, when I tell you about really rude comments I almost replied to innocent strangers' posts with, you're supposed to tell me "No," not "Dooooo iiiiiiit."
