I'm going to get a bachelor of science.

In computer animation.

Because I win at life.

Going to a lovely digital arts college with an 80% placement rate for their students getting high end jobs in Silicon Valley/Hollywood/etc.

My dad said yes! (as in yes, he'll pay for it)

Web design class starts next week. The lab is two hours longer than the lab in my last class. One lab runs from noon to 5:45 and the other from 6:00 to 11:45. I really hope I get the first one because I don't think buses run that late, and if they don't I'm going to need to mooch of classmates with cars. Poo.

Meanwhile, need to call about plane ticket for sister's graduation. The way my dad currently plans to schedule it, I'll be missing one day of class, which, like, no. I do not want to have to make up three hours of lecture *and* six hours of lab. If I leave the day before instead of two days before I won't miss anything.

Uhm, yeah. Gattaca!vid tonight. Y'all probably won't hear from me till that's done, except maybe a few psychotic ramblings at 4:00 in the morning about how my eyes are bleeding right out of their sockets.

Heeeee!

It's all part of my plan to vid for a living after trying the regular college route and realizing I spent more time working on my hobbies than on my schoolwork. This way my schoolwork is my hobby. I figure I'll get more done.

MUCH congratulationitude!

If you can swing it, try double-majoring in a business degree as well. Typically, a career starts out with you in your profession doing something. As you get older, you go from DOING it to MANAGING others who do it. With a business emphasis, this will be a more reasonable transition for you, so you can stay in what you love for longer.

Double majoring can be a little tricky, but often the core classes for one will work as electives for another, so you can probably pull off the juggling act without spending more than five years there. Give it some thought.

Well, the school I'm going to is not a university. It's this intensive mentorship program for digital arts students. It doesn't actually offer a business major. Although I suppose I could see about maybe getting a business degree online. Thanks for the heads up!

That is very cool. Upon graduation, you will have posh apartment in WEHO, kickin' job in the industry with cute boy assistant, and we will all swoon with jealousy.

Oh, and you can fire anyone who asks you where you're from. Or what you are. Heh.

Hee! Oh goodness, I don't think I'd ever fire people for that. I'd threaten to fire them, though, just to see the fear in their eyes.

XD

Well, at least make them sign up for a 'don't be an ignorant fool' class. Hmmmm, lot's of folk in Hollywood could stand to get a class like that....heh.

Meh. People will always be ignorant fools about far sillier things than race. If fandom has taught me anything, it's that no matter where you go you run into asses, and you just have to learn to ignore them.

Until you get home, and then you go complain about them to your friends.

Yay! Which school are you going to? Which reminds me, bug me next year if you want to go to Game Developer Conference, or DV Expo West this year.

great news. I know little about the school but the student-teacher ratio looked very promising.
