Weird tech problem
May. 8th, 2005 07:25 pmI'm in DGMPEGDec looking at the preview settings for The OC VOB's.

C:\The OC\Disc 1\VTS_01_7.VOB

finished preview: 29.970 fps, NTSC 9%, Progressive
When I opened all but VTS_01_1.VOB, I got the error message: WARNING! Opening GOP is not closed. The first few frames may not be decoded correctly.
I tried to do Forced FILM on C:\The OC\Disc 1\VTS_01_3.VOB since the amv.org guides suggested it when FILM was at least 96%, but the resulting project file still looked interlaced when I opened it in VirtualDubMod.
Help? What am I supposed to do with these VOB's so I can edit with them?

Date: 2005-05-09 06:37 am (UTC)Sources like this are a bit of a drag. Is there any pattern to the scenes which are interlaced? If it's just the opening titles can you ignore those for footage?
Alternatively it might just be a hybrid DVD in which case you may have to not do force film and just use an IVTC script in avisynth such as:
Telecide(order=1)
Decimate(5)
This will make avs use slower though. There's also the option of leaving it interlaced and editing it as such in premiere. Have a read through what I've written on dealing with hybrids and see if it's of any help.
