Brand new fetish! I have
evenstarjuliet to thank for this one: boys in eyeliner. She made me join the community (well, actually there're two, but I only joined one of them). Basically, it's a community where guys post photos of themselves in eyeliner and get slathered with compliments. Gratuitious self-pimpage, for the most part. The goth look is prevalent -- pale skin, purplish lips, strange, longish hair. Makes me feel like a necro cause some of the guys on this list are just. Pretty.
Well, I suppose I already had something of an eyeliner fetish, what with Captain Jack Sparrow of PotC.
Oh, and
evenstarjuliet, you know that anime DNAngel that you were telling me about? That was what it was called, right? I hope so. Anyway, I downloaded the whole series and have watched the first few episodes. It's...interesting. No overly annoying voices, thank god. Very pretty artwork. Rampant slasy subtext between the main character and that blue-haired glasses-wearing fellow. I mean dude -- what was up with the stalkerish eyefucking staring? And then of course there was that scene were they were trapped together in the freezer, huddling together for warmth while their inner demons kept trying to rise to the surface and wrestle battle eachother (4th episode in series).
I actually have no intention of writing any slash for this series. Just so you folks know, I wasn't *looking* for subtext when I started watching this anime. It was just *so* *there.*
I's an alright show, I suppose, but I much prefer One Piece. And for any anime fans on my friends list *not* watching One Piece, see why you should and read this review. Action! Comedy! Insanity! Non-boring flashback scenes!
I also watched a few episodes of Jake 2.0. It looks like a good show, from what I've seen. The main character's nerdy in a very cute way. I already had a crush on him from his stint as a semi-main character on the old WB teen drama Popular (which I doubt anybody remembers -- the show wasn't all that great and I don't think it lasted longer than two seasons). In this show, he's a nerd who got infected with nano-robots that maximize his body's performance (means he's got enhanced senses and increased strength and nicely developed abdominal muscles) and allow him to interface with any computer (he can hack into computers, security systems, etc.). It reminds me of that show that was on sci-fi channel -- Invisible Man -- only this time the main character is smart as well as hot. Oh -- and one of the main characters from Popular guest stars on Jake 2.0 in the fifth episode.
Fun stuff.
I'm taking a break from whining over classes. The next time I mention physics on this lj will be when I'm telling you that I've either passed or flunked it. If I pass, expect much squeeing. If I flunk, expect a very brief three word sentence followed by some depressing song lyrics spam. That is all.
