I keep getting mail delivery failure messages in my bulk mail -- for e-mails I never sent in the first place.

Has my mail been hacked? What the hell?

I changed my password back when this first started happening, but that didn't seem to do anything.

It means that someone who has your email address in their address book has a virus which is using other email addresses in the from: field to spread itself and hide the source. It's a common annoying tactic and one of many reasons why people shouldn't use Outlook :)

It doesn't even mean that the address was in someone's address book - if it's been online at all, then it's been picked up by bots and spammers who have it just put it in the Return email of their spam.

You've got a worm. It's invaded your e-mail and is spamming your address book and possibly others. Update your virus definitions and run a virus scan.

I'm pretty sure that's not it. I don't have outlook express or eudora or anything like that. I access my e-mail through the mozilla web browser. The only e-mail related thing on my harddrive is possibly my brower cache.

Probably either someone else's address book w/ my e-mail got infected or a bot found my e-mail some random place online.

I'll run a virus scan, though. Never hurts to be careful, and I'm probably due for one anyway.
