SGA fandom is the most CRACKTASTIC fandom I have ever been in that was neither HP nor anime.

Which is to say.

I got a John/Atlantis vidbunny.

I mean, someone's got to vid John/Atlantis, right? It's the fandoms other, other OTP. Just read the fic. If it's not overt, it's there in the subtext. Virtually every Rodney/John story features Rodney getting omgsojellus of John's relationship with the Ancient technology at one point or another. Hell, auburnnothenna's Legion the Things I Would Give to Oblivion is a flat out threesome (and I don't care what the summary says -- the third party is *so* not Teyla). seperis's Like Running Through Water is just plain John/Atlantis *porn.*

See, someone posted the season 3 premiere of The OC to my co-op server and "Blue Light (Engineers Anti-Gravity Mix)" by Bloc Party started playing at the end of the episode. I realized instantly that the song was all about emo!Atlantis' tragic unrequited longing for John. I mean, just look at the lyrics.

Now the true beauty of this vidbunny? Lies within the clip choices. See, I was clipping for my Elizabeth vid earlier tonight and bemoaning the fact that there's talky-face in every single one of her scenes when it hit me. Atlantis vid. In Atlantis POV. Atlantis is, like, the *anti* talky-face.

I get to use all the gratuitous special effects porn in the show like the gate chevrons activating and the wormhole opening and the sheild going up and the ceiling retracting to let the puddlejumper through. I get to include shots of people pushing buttons and moving crystals around. I get to show doors and walkways and transporters and the million and one establishing shots of the city they put after every goddamn commercial break for no reason at all. Basically, I get to use all the crap that looks pretty while having practically no narrative purpose.

This vid idea? Gives it a narrative purpose. It gives it *personality.* The Ancient system isn't malfunctioning because it's water damaged. Oh, no, it's malfunctioning because it is *heartsick* and *lonely* and full of emo angst.
