THEIR VIBE IS THE MOST BROTHERLY SISTERLY VIBE EVER. I WAS GIVING THEM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, BUT "THE LOST BOYS" CEMENTED IT.

ANYONE WHO HAS SYBLINGS THEY WERE SUFFICIENTLY CLOSE WITH WHEN GROWING UP KNOWS THIS.

AND AS I THINK FUCKING MY SISTER IS GROSS AND THEY ACT JUST LIKE I ACT WITH MY SISTER, I'M STRIKING GODDAMNIT.

I think I need to start writing fic again just to clean out my brain from the EXTREME SQUICK.



Uhm. In other news. BSG. Whoa, BSG. I need more BSG people on my flist. I don't even want to read fic. I just want people who understand so I can curl up in their laps when I am traumatized.

I am so with you about the latest BSG ep. I cannot even write about it. We spent most of the episode with the TIVO on fast-forward - just fast enough to catch glimpses of dialogue with the closed captioning. So go ahead, curl away.

Yes, well Luke/Leia have the UST thing going on, and Numb3rs has kind of the River/Simon thing going on, which I don't usually care for, but I can handle. Really, I don't care if characters are syblings as long as they don't see each other the way typical syblings would.

And I really think Ronon and Teyla do see each other the way typical syblings would. I *recognize* this dynamic. It's almost *exactly* how I remember being with my sister when we were growing up. So there's the one grossout factor in that they are *mentally* syblings the same way that I am mentally syblings with my sister and the other grossout factor that people are mistaking their brother sister bickering for UST banter, which to me just smacks of bad characterization. And I tend to be really critical about characterization in this fandom, particularly Ronon's. There are very few people who I've found write him plausibly, for me at least.

Uhm. Imagine I wrote that more calmly. I'm still a little screwed up from the BSG.

I'm still mulling over the latest BSG. There are a lot of fans who are upset that the Cylons (who committed genocide) looked sympathetic. It reminded me heavily of Planet of the Apes... Weird, I know. But it had the same dilema in later parts of the series. Who was the monster? The ape, or the man who was too good at creating the ape in his own image?

Mmm now watching sweaty Vin in Saving Private Ryan.
