Beta Appreciation Day

lierdumoaI am a big ficcing and vidding ho, so this post is going to be kind of all over the place.
First, I will sing the praises of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
permetaform, the only regular beta I have ever had. She was the first person to give me vid advice and has beta'd my every vid since that. She always has something insightful to say regarding visual composition and story flow. She always gives advice that not only makes my vids better, but makes me like my vids better.
And, of course, there was that one time I was stressing out and she came over to my house and kept me company and cooked me food for twelve, count 'em, TWELVE hours while I put together the last minute of Girl Anachronism.
permetaform, even when we are not vidding together, I feel like every vid I make is a collaboration thanks to your invaluable advice. You are awesome!
And, in roughly chronological order:
amariel and teh_shiny, we aren't in the same fandoms any more, but you two were the first beta's I ever had back when I was writing badfic in HP, and the first friends I ever had in fandom and you ROCK.
phangurl, you read my EW fic and thought I was cool, even though you were so much cooler than me, and continue to be. Though we are no longer in the same fandoms, I still read everything you write.
rhiannonhero, in addition to beta'ing for me, welcomed me into the QaF fandom and helped me make a home there. And you weren't afraid of telling me when I was writing out of my ass.
spaggel, you never actually beta'd for me, but you were there listening to me bitch, and bitch, and bitch, both in IM and over the phone, and I LOVE YOU.
gwyn_r, after breaking my heart with your Wes/Lilah vid, you gave me absolutely invaluable advice on my TF&TF vid and probably the most in-depth vid beta I have ever recieved to date. Your awesomeness is legend.
boniblithe, I was lurking on your journal and popped in as a total stranger saying, "Hey! I made this vid! I want someone who's not familiar with the fandom to look at it." And you actually said yes, which still has me boggling. And you saw my vid and you thought I was cool even though you were so much cooler than me and continue to be.
absolut3destiny you're coolness is beyond the telling. You always bring with you a most fascinating perspective and, of course, you own my soul for introducing me to avisynth. It's sitting in a jar on a shelf in your kitchen, somewhere.
sdwolfpup, you provided invaluable advice for Teeth In The Grass. It would be a sad vid indeed if not for you.
morgandawn. You beta'd Moment Couldn't Break, which I made with permetaform, and helped us get rid of what didn't work and improve upon what did work. Every time I speak to you, you grow more awesome in my mind. I WANT TO BE YOU WHEN I GROW UP.
seperis. You are the best cheerleader ever. And you tell me when I'm wrong. And I feel you must be sick of my continuous ranting by now, but for some reason you think I'm funny, and I'm *cool* with that.

laurashapiro -- yet another person who thinks I am cool when she is so much cooler than I. Thank you for looking at my Ray Kowalski vid, as yet unfinished, and giving me exactly the kind of advice I wanted. I'll be posting that soon, I swear.
