Almost a year ago I read Cordelictus by ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
fabularasa. I was overjoyed to find a writer had come along with not only a great talent for writing, but with the inclination to write for my favorite HP pairing -- Sirius/Severus, and the focus required to actually finish all of her WIP's in a timely manner.
Of course, I had the obvious reaction. I fell into a fit of creativity and made some fanart. At the time, I had access to no image programs more sophisticated than Paint, nor did I have a scanner. I knew I wasn't going to create a masterpiece, but I could to make do. After about an hour using only Paint's pencil function and erase function, I came up with something I considered halfway descent and posted it to the SS/SB yahoo!group.
Since then and now my computer software has improved considerably. Today, with the aid of GIMP (it's like Photoshop only free), I took my old piece of fanart and made it pretty. In the cut tag you'll see a before and after, thanks to (among other things) very liberal use of the smudge function and some shifting around of small portions of the picture.
