lierdumoa: (shocked! [spaggel])
So I signed up for a gender studies class. It had the rather ambiguous name of women in American culture. Well, as it turned out, the class is a lot more specific than that. In the summer, professors get the opportunity to submit proposals for classes that are a bit more liberal than the stuff they teach during the school year. This time, the professor wanted to teache a clas on hip-hop. So, the class is in fact a gendered study of American hip-hop culture.

I'm really excited about this. We're just doing the history of hip-hop at the moment. Eventually we'll be exploring other themes. Our final project is to get into groups of three and produce a hip-hop video. Whee!

My poetry workshop is also going really well. We workshopped something like seven poems today in class. A lot of the people in the class are really good poetry writers, and I'm really enjoying reading and discussing their work. We have yet to discuss any of my work. We'll be doing that on Friday.

Now I have some news concerning the Dissociative Gale & Randy RPGs. Due to recent, uuh...developments in the comments thread of [livejournal.com profile] slutgale's most recent post, [livejournal.com profile] piecesofgale is now rated NC-17. *cough* I'm sure the same will soon apply to [livejournal.com profile] randomlyrandy.
