Why I love it: Great characterizations. Alien biology takes a visible role in sex and manages not to be humorous or squickworthy. I love the idea of this fic and the way it is played out. I think this fic is just gorgeous, all around.

Summary: Another futurefic. Lex finds out about Clark in the worst possible way -- from Lionel. Clark is blackmailed into a kind of slavery. Clark has to save Lex from Lionel and from himself. Lex has to decide what humanity means. NC-17; 152 KB
Why I love it: This fic is hardcore. Brilliantly laid out angst intertwined with a thread of hope. I want to write like this when I grow up. The author puts her characters through so much and still maintains good characterization. Clark really is the hero we see him slowly becoming on the show. Lex is what I we want him to be -- what we know he can be. This fic is scarily good. The worst case scenario and the happy ending and it works.
Wrong Tense by Penelope-Z
Summary: Ficlet. Gen. Whitney introspective. R; 8 KB
Why I love it: It's short and simple. It's beautifully written. It's poignant and honest.
Mouse: A Definition bysabershadowkat (aka Henry Jones Jr.)
Summary: Clark goes into heat. Wackiness ensues. Watch out for the rodents of unusual size. NC-17; 156 KB
Why I love it: This story is just so much fun. It takes the totally cliche idea of Clark going into heat and turns it into a well plotted, fascinating read. It's got dorky, neurotic Lex and angry, control freak Lex. It's got lizard brain Clark,and guilty Clark. It's just fun.
Card One: The Fool by Mistress Ace
Summary: Another rift? What rift? futurefic. Clark and Lex fake a relationship only to realize they aren't really faking it. Then Lex very nearly fucks everything up with his insecurities. Warning: pervy het sex. NC-17; 404 KB
Why I love it: I suppose from that description this fic should sound out of character but it's not, really. It's just showing these characters at their absolute worst. This story makes me cringe in the best possible way. It's total fun to read, and at the same time, utter torture.
