lierdumoa: (vidding crazy)
I figured out how to fix pt. 2 of the last chorus whilst washing pots for two hours this morning. Mindless manual labor is apparently good for the vidding brain.

I'm pretty sure what I'll do to fix the ending, as per [livejournal.com profile] permetaform's suggestions.

I still have no idea what I'm doing for pt. 1 of the last chorus. As far as I can tell, all it's doing is showcasing "teh pretty" and it's not even doing it all that well.

Stop sucking.

::pokes more::

I'm still waiting in joyful hope to hear from my other beta's (I managed to recruit one more at the last minute). Hopefully they'll be happy with the parts I'm happy with or else I'll have to go back and fix even more shit than I thought I had to fix.

I still need to 1) write up the 'making of' post and 2) finish the vid credits. Possibly. Right now the end credits look weirdly puffier than the beginning credits. I figure I can slim the letters down if I darken them and up the contrast. Also, I still need to photoshop credit #3. That's sure to be miserably time consuming.

Meanwhile, a bunch of vidders on my flist are falling into vid-farr just as I'm falling out of it. I hate my bad timing.

Before I forget...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] valereix!

So I skipped last week. I'm shoving everything a week forward.

[MASTERLIST]

The Hands of Orpheus by Thamiris
Summary: AU. Clark goes down to hell to rescue Lex from his father (Satan). NC-17; 44 KB
Why I love it: It's very well written. They took what I thought would be a comical idea (Lionel as Satan -- literally) and made a serious, well written fic. It works and it's mythic and lovely. Go read.

Subterranean by Hope
Summary: Clark and Lex are driving and get run off the road and trapped by meteor freak children who never grew up. They have to escape. R; 36 KB
Why I love it: It's a really interesting idea. I just love all the interaction between Clark and Lex in this. I know few authors who come up with their own meteor freaks and fewer who make them both believable and interesting.

When a Strawberry Is Pushed into a Mountain by Thamiris
Summary: Futurefic. No rift. Clark is in college and needs help on a paper. He also needs to work out some things about his relationship with Lex. NC-17; 188 KB
Why I love it: It's really good. It's a realistic exploration of how a relationship could evolve between Clark and Lex. It goes into some relationship issues that authors rarely try to be too in depth about. It's a good read. Well characterized for minor characters as well as Clark and Lex.

Gothom Underground by [livejournal.com profile] shaggirl
Summary: Batman (generic) crossover. Lex finds out about Clark. Lionel proves a threat to clark. Lex offers to protect Clark with the help of an old friend. Power plays and stilted conversations galore. NC-17; 180 KB
Why I love it: Really good plot development. Interesting idea, well played out. The tension just keeps going up throughout the story. The characterizations are realistic for all characters. All in all, well written and interesting.

Pinnacle by Kellie
Summary: Long after they've become enemies, Lex blackmails Clark into a long overdue conversation. Clark doesn't know if Superman will survive it. Clark has to make a some serious decisions. PG-13; 100 KB
Why I love it: Lex is still crazy and obsessive and just the Lex I have in my head. Clark is well characterized as well. I love fic where the two characters just sit and talk shit out. It's, like, a kink for me or something. The ending is so perfect it's almost a guilty pleasure to read it.

100 KB approx. 17000-18000 wds.
