colfax7 once mentioned to me that she gave mad props to David Hewlett for making Rodney so believable, because seriously. What a ridiculous little man. And it was funny, because it was true. I love Rodney just as much as the next fan (who loves him) but if David Hewlett weren't the one acting him, I can't imagine very many other actors actually *pulling him off.*And then I realized.
Rodney was originally a guest star. You know, on that other Stargate that I don't watch. And it's typical behavior of pretty much every show ever to bring in, if not a villain of the week, some other kind of plot prop who's more caricature than character and whose sole purpose is to cause drama. Only in Rodney's case, they then took this character and made him into a *main* character and gave him motivation and multiple levels and he's still ridiculous, but it's a believable ridiculous.
He is like Joxer!

I'm really glad they brought him back. :)
