Massachusetts legalized gay marriage. In your face, Bush!

The WB website still hasn't put up the trailer for next week's episode! And it's been a whole...well, half... day since the last episode aired! Augh! On the other hand, the Angel trailer is *hotness* and I can't wait for tomorrow's episode. Since the beginning Angel has had that whole "shanshu" prophesy that said that 'an ensouled vampire would redeem himself and win back his humanity.' According to a teaser on the WB website, Spike (ghost-guy) is being re-corporealized, and he and Angel are going to battle it out for which one of them gets shanshu.

My guess? Spike is gonna win it. Why, you ask? Because if Angel wins his humanity, that's the end of the series. Somehow I think that Angel is going to have more seasons than this. Even if this does turn out to be the last season, it's too early on in the season for Angel to suddenly win his redemption and turn human. I suppose technically his new job is better suited for a human than his old job was (since it was more hands on and vampire strength was more important for gaining an advantage), but we had the general idea from the beginning of the show that humanity was Angel's ultimate goal. If he gets that, what's left?

As for the possibilities if Spike wins shanshu? Endless, I tell you. The whole theme of this season is corruption. Taking over the LA branch of Wolfram & Hart is supposedly making the Angel cast more and more corrupt. We're supposed to be getting a birds-eye view of Angel-and-crew's downward spiral into darkness. Think about it. If Spike gets a soul, Angel looses all hope of winning redemption. If he loses hope, it will make him that much more easy to corrupt. I mean, what's the point of having morals if fate keeps shitting on you?

Also, if Spike gets shanshu, he won't really have much excuse for remaining on the show, and frankly that's a good thing. I mean, I love Spike, but there is way too much dick on this show. There are five male leads and only two female leads. Winifred isn't a very strong character (she's okay, but she's no Cordelia when it comes to on-screen presence) and Eve? The new chick? Who's probably evil and dresses high-maintenance and chirps up with cryptic little phrases and is generally really, really annoying? If she's the strongest female character on the show, the show is not looking good.

Gah!

So, yeah. I'm betting on Spike winning the shanshu. I think he deserves it more anyway. He's the one who's actually done the redeeming. Angel was cursed with a soul, and it's the *soul* that wants to be redeemed, not the *vampire.* With Spike, it's actually the vampire part of him that has gone against it's very nature to try to do good.

Either way, tomorrow's ep. features Drusilla and yummy flashbacks. I love Buffyverse flashbacks! They are superior to all other flashbacks! Especially when they include Spike and Drusilla. God, but I love that crazy evil bitch.

;o)

See? I do read! Ha!

And I do think Spike deserves to be shanshu-ed. I mean, he wanted the soul, where as Angel(us) whined about it for 100+ years.

I was talking with House, and we agreed it would wonderfully evil if Angel becomes human and the same thing that happened to Darla happens to him - STDs. *evil laugh*
