Conversation regarding Supernatural I had last night.

lierdumoa: I kind of want the happy futurefic where the demon's dead and Sam is a lawyer and Dean realizes he only really did the mission thing to cling to his family and becomes a car mechanic in whatever town Sam is lawyering in and they go hunting on the weekends, and call up Sam's psychic friends network (and Dean totally calls it that too) to take care of any incidents that take place more than a day's drive away
lierdumoa: why does Sam have to completely give up college and a real job in *every single futurefic*

Heh. For me the 'apart from normal society' thing isn't because of *my* shame (dude, one of my favorite pairings in another fandom is Superman/his biological son), it's just that I always have a hard time buying incest when the characters in question aren't too badly warped.

Although, I would love a fic where Sam and Dean live in suburbia and are neighborly and pretend to be perfectly normal, and then they're fucking on the side and use 'fishing trip' weekends to kill monsters.

Shockingly, Wolfling and James Walkswithwind seem to be headed in this sort of direction, sorta kinda.

Caveat: I'm only through the third part. But, after two looooong parts of Teh Angst and TEH SEX OMG, well... dunno if you want actual spoilers for the fic because I was like, "Huh, that totally could've happened!" and was pleasingly surprised.

Caveat the second: WIP, in the 83K+ word length way. Do NOT let it stop you.

Actually, that's not really what I'm looking for. I don't just want fic where they get to live together happily at something approaching normal. I specifically want fic where Sam doesn't give up his dreams of college and being a lawyer.

Way to ask for spoilers -- he doesn't. Dean goes with Sam to keep him safe & they set up in Palo Alto (as boyfriends, not brothers) while John stays on the hunt.

Last part got kinda shmoopy, though, and I dunno if/when it'll continue, but I thought it mostly met your criteria.
