Let me tell you about Everwood. That show is *pimp.*

Okay, first off, what I'm about to say will not give you a very good picture on the scope of this show. The following speil concentrates on only my favorite elements. Just so you know, this show has more going for it that the things I run on and on about in this journal entry. It has drama and deals with complex issues that apply to real life. The issues I address in this entry are far less applicable to real life. They're just *fun.*

See, there's Madison (the babysitter). In the beginning, I thought "Hmmmm...she's a little too perfect. Which is kind of annoying." She cooks. She relates well with Delia (the little sister). She knows better than Andy (the dad) when it comes to parenting. Of course, Andy's not the best father, but it was still a little annoying that the girl has no faults.

But, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. After all, it's stupid to judge a character after one episode. I know a lot of people were saying when she first came on, "God, she's annoying! Why did they bring her into the picture." Sometimes I just have to shake my head at people. After all, if you like a show, you should trust that it's creators aren't idiots about to fuck it up. So I figured eventually we'd get to see more of Madison than her blinding perfection, and she would become more likeable.

...wait for it...

And then came the episode when she taught Ephram to parallel park. Ephram passed his driving test and he (WTF?!?!?) kissed her in front of the DMV while his ex-crush looked on sadly, poor girl. Meh -- now she has a hot new crush of her own. Good for her. So as I was saying -- Ephram kissed Madison, his blond, beautiful, perfect babysitter. Oh, excuse me, his little sister's babysitter (teenage guys get so touchy about these things). There was a big awkward moment. Whatever.

And then...we found out that Madison was in a band. She wants to be a great musical success and leave Everwood to seek her fortune in the big city. What a surprise. Now there's something about Ephram. What was it again? Oh yeah -- he's a musical prodigy. A piano prodigy to be exact. (Hands! Hands!) So Ephram listened to her band and said "You guys sound...uh...good!" when what he meant to say was "You sound like crap. Madison can sing, but that's about it." (Yeah, she can sing too. Don't you just hate that bitch?) Anyway, Ephram helped her improve some of the musical arrangements and Madison was pathetically grateful to him. She started to chat with him like they were equals. Like they were friends. Like he isn't sixteen and she isn't four years older than him. And then her boyfriend walked up and kissed her right in front of Ephram (wait a second -- you didn't tell Ephram you were dating? you whore!)

*malicious snickering*

*loud throat clearing*

So where was I? Ephram called Madison on her omission. She did the whole "it was none of your business" speil. He said, of course, "like fuck it wasn't my business!" (well, not with those exact words, but y'all get the point). And then:

(some verbatim quotage coming up)

Madison: "You don't even know me."

Ephram: "I might not know everything about you, but I do know some things. I know that you're the only person who makes my little sister think it's okay to be a girl. I know how you feel when you sing because it's how I feel when I play. I know all you really want from this Jay guy (her boyfriend) is for him to get you and he never will because all he's interested in getting is himself. And I know that all this stuff about me being too young is just you being afraid. Because it's easier for you to say that I'm too young than to risk something that's not what you thought you wanted. Most of all I know that ever since I kissed you at the DMV, every time I've seen you, I've wanted to kiss you again. And I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty certain that you have too."

*kiss* Oh, how romantical

Ephram: "Thought so."

Madison: stands there with her mouth hanging open like a fish. She closes her mouth, bites her lip in that cute 'I'm all conflicted' way, and Ephram walks off with the back to the audience. His shirt is long, and it covers up his ass so you can't see the way he fits into his jeans. Stupid shirt. *hiss* Depriving me of my Ephram bum.

Anyway, that all happened last week. This week? Madison broke up with her boyfriend. She was all sad. Ephram wanted to cheer her up. So he glared at Delia until Delia went over and tried to cheer her up. Delia ended up inviting Madison over to her sleepover party. Ephram was all like 'well fuck me -- I'm never asking Delia to do anything for me ever again.' Again, not a direct quote, but that was the look he had on his face. Anyway, he talked with Bright (who has somewhat more experience dating) and Bright suggested that Ephram ignore her to make her pay more attention to him. Why Bright, you're such a player! You're also a silly white boy who thinks he can say things like "don't hate the player, hate the game" without sounding like an idiot. But I still love you. And want to bear your children. And fuck you till you cry because you're hot sex on toast.

Ah, but I digress. Where was I? Sleepover. Ephram's like "how am I going to ignore her at a sleepover. Bright's like "I'll come. I'll be your wingman." Hey -- anybody ever heard the "Wingman" song in that one Coors commercial? I know you have. Sing it with me now, people: "This chick's rockin' your bro on the dance floor..."

But I digress again. So Bright sings, and looks very goofy and adorable, and Delia and her gaggle of friends giggle and sigh over him. I do some giggling and sighing myself. Man, but this show has all the hot guys. If only they wouldn't cover up Ephram's ass, everything would be perfect. If only it were more like Smallville, in which young Clark Kent manages to lose his shirt every 4 minutes.

But I digress yet again. So, yeah. Madison goes outside to sit on a porch swing and mope over her breakup. Ephram joins her. She tells him "he dumped me because he thought I liked someone else...and he was right" in so many words. They kiss. Yes! And the next morning, Madison walks in. Ephram tells her that it's okay and they can just forget about it, because he knows there's no way Madison's actually going to date him. Only...

...wait for it...

Madison has kissed Ephram. Numerous times. No way she's giving that up. She'll just have to deal with the fact that her boyfriend is still in high school. And she's his babysitter.

*Muahahahaha!*

So, in summary, I no longer find Madison in the least bit annoying.

And Ephram makes one juicy piece of jail bait.

As I mentioned before, I've only really addressed the more scandalicious elements. The rest of the show (what's going on with Andy and Amy-the-ex-crush) is more serious and a lot less soap-operatic than the Ephison. However, right now I'm too caught up in the Ephison to talk about much else. Don't get me wrong; I'm still all for the Bright/Ephram. It's just that the het in this show is so good! It's just as good as the slash! How cool is that!

Man, I can't wait till next week. Andy finds out! About his son! Dating the babysitter! *hyperventilates*

Okay, now I have to go study chem. I'm off!

Dude.

I love you. And I don't even know you.

I thought The Queen (http://www.livejournal.com/users/queenofalostart) and I were the only ones that liked Madison. And, of course, Madison and Ephram.

I was just telling [profile] kairos103 that I need a Madison icon that says, 'Don't like me? That's okay. Ephram does.'

Oh, yes, I have friended you. It's gets lonely here with the rest of the fandom still hating my not-so-sekrit girlfriend. *g*

[livejournal.com profile] soobunny also likes the Ephison. I was talking with her about the terrible confusion over who to ship, since both of us also ship Bright/Ephram (notice my icon).

Want me to make that icon for you? I've been making a lot of Everwood icons lately.

Oh yeah -- and for future reference -- are you male or female?

I just don't see the Bright/Ephram. They just don't have any vibes, for me at least.

Of course, my OTP is still Colin/Ephram. Yeah, I'm sad like that. *g*

Oh. My. I would love an icon. Seriously? You'd do that? That would rock the party.

And I am of the female persuasion.
