Okay, there are some fandoms that have no love for a newbie. They're just too damn big -- unless you try to get into a rarepairing clique within the fandom. Something like Everwood is nice. It's still small enough to enjoy new talent, but large enough to get you a decent amount of feedback.

Queer as Folk, though? Gives newbies mad lovin'. I swear, all dem bitches is *crazy.* My QaF RPS -- I haven't gotten this much feedback for a single post since my Harry/Draco porn saga from two years back [1]. Also -- I got friended by, like, 5 people in the past four days.

Well, I hope they like icons, because that's the only QaF type thing I'm going to be posting any time soon. I really have to get cracking on my Everwood threesome fic. I owe it to

queenofalostart (not that she cares about anything other than LOTRiPS these days). As to the unprecedented feedback -- I suppose it helped that

rhiannonhero gave a shoutout on her lj the other day, promising she would read my fic. Inadvertant pimpage from a BNF. It's a wonderful thing.

noiresensus has it archived, in case you're interested in reading it. It's a WIP that ends on a cliffhanger of death, and I don't know if I'll ever get to finish it.

In other news, my roomate moved out of our room. She had too many friends living on our floor to properly concentrate on schoolwork. To give you some idea of the repercussions of this action, I'll have to give you some background on my dorm room. I am a freshman, and my dorm made the decision that no freshman would be allowed to have a single. Since I did not specify a roommate, and there were an odd number of freshman, I got roomed with a sophomore. Since my roommate was a sophomore, thanks to dorm seniority, I ended up with what is arguably *the* best double in the entire dorm. It's huge, for one thing. It even has it's own bathroom built into the room. It's on the tenth floor, and has a fantastic view of Boston from it's windows.

Speaking of the windows -- let me just say that the architect who designed my dorm was a crack smoker. Let me tell you. The building is a wide, rectangular concrete edifice completely covered in windows. Small, 2 ft. x 2 ft. windows, each spaced a food apart, cover the entire building. This means that my room has an entire *wall* of windows -- eighteen in all. Crazy! Makes for a beautiful view, though, and keeps everything well lighted during the day.

Well, my roommate moved out, and no one's moving in. What was previously the largest double in the dorm is now the largest single. I don't know what to do with all the extra space, let alone the extra desk, closet, bed, and shelves. But seriously -- I love it. This whole situation rocks. In fact, it rocks hard!
