So first off, got myself a new web browser. Mozilla Firefox. I like it *so* much better than Internet Explorer or Netscape. It looks nicer, for one thing, you have the option of opening up sites in tabs so you can view a number of different web pages in a single window. Also, I've heard it is far less vulnerable to spyware and viruses then IE (a lot of which are designed specifically to target IE). *pets*
This is actually the same web browser used by the MIT computers. It only just occurred to me to download it. I should have done so earlier -- would probably have saved me a lot of grief.
I now have Premiere and Photoshop. I realized that the CD
permetaform gave me had not only Premiere on it, but Photoshop as well! Unfortunately it's a German version of the program, and all buttons are labeled in German, so it will take me a bit longer than usual to figure out how to work everything. I'm a little in love with Premiere. It is *so* much better than WMM. People told me it was going to be hard to figure out, but I managed to learn pretty much everything I needed to know within a few hours.
Had a fantastic time with
lelenevity. We walked around town a bit yesterday afternoon and did some window shopping. She ended up buying a CD and a cartoon history of the US (very cute -- the illustrations reminded me of those found in Roald Dahl children's books). We ordered pizza for dinner. She let me burn half her CD collection. She told me how she had sort of gotten into Smallville, so we watched three of my favorite episodes. Shattered, Asylum, and Memoria.
My God, but that show is gay. Gay, gay, gay. As an avid Queer as Folk fan, I can assure you all that Smallville is the gayest show in the history of television.
Now,
lelenevity is not a slasher. In fact, she's not even involved in fandom. About halfway though Shattered she turned to me and said: "Wow. This show is gay!" For the rest of the time we were watching she kept inserting random phrases to the end of Clark's sentences like: I have to help Lex -- because he is my husband.
Afterwards I told her, "Now you'll know how I feel. You'll never be able to watch the show like a normal fan ever again."
*very evil grin*
Oh, yeah. And I have a date tomorrow. Score!!!
