Why are people stupid and annoying?

So I'm looking over the part of my vid that I've finished. Some really annoying chick walks into my room.

Annoying!chick: Are you watching porn?!?!?
Me: No. It's Queer as Folk. It's on Showtime, so it has nudity.
Annoying!chick: Guys having sex -- sounds like porn to me.
Me: *throws heavy, sharp object at her face*

Except not really. I just wanted to. A lot.

Also, she owes me five bucks.

Pornography is explicit for the sake of being explicit. The sex on QaF actually has meaning behind it. I'd say about half of Brian's characterization is tied up in his sex life. But I suppose there will always be people who enjoy making broad generalizations because they're too busy thinking with their asses to actually open a fucking dictionary and look terms up the terms they so love to throw around.

I'm taking this class Art/Pornography/Blasphemy/Propaganda . In the tute today, this chick brought up Queer as Folk as an example of something, I don't remember what. I'd already decided I despised her before this, so of course the idea that she watched my show was devastatingly offensive. So she's talking about it as if she knows something, which is especially annoying when it becomes clear she knows shit, because she goes, "It's made by HBO, they're much less puritanical about their content."

I'm still not sure why this annoys me so much. Also, I'm now terrified she's going to end up being in fandom, and randomly happening upon this comment.

HBO! Hmph.
