lierdumoaJust finished seeing Chronicles of Riddick. Good God, that man is hot. He's like a life sized sculpture in caramel. Only, like, animated. And less sticky. Yes. And the voice! THE VOICE! Okay, so most of the dialogue (and the monologue too, for that matter) was a little stupid. Shut up. He still sounded hot. Rilly, rilly hot. Like, ever time he opened his mouth my mind started with the bad porn dialogue -- "Oooooh yeah, baby. Juuust like that."
I really liked the whole premise of the movie. I think it would have made a great comic book. I want to know more about who and what exactly the necromangers and the elementals are. And the furians. They kinda superhuman? Like a race of slayers? Or maybe they just have more willpower. Not easily corrupted. You know -- like hobbits, but sexier and with bigger shlongs.
Yes, in case you were ever in doubt, I am indeed a big fat nerd.
Movie definitely had the coolest death scenes ever. And fight scenes for that matter. They were gorgeous, I tell you. And very artistic. I only wish the movie had some sex. And that Riddick has spent some time naked. Or, you know, a lot of time naked. That would have been good.
Wifebeaters are officially my favorite article of clothing.
Loved, loved, loved the end. Too bad Kira had to die. Too bad she had to change her name to Kira. Jack was such a better name. I guess they wanted to feminize her or something. Dude, she looked really feminine. Feminine enough to pull off the name Jack without becoming androgenized. Anyway, I guess it was better that she die. For the story, you know?
Love how he kind of fell back on his throne almost by accident and then everyone started bowing and he got is "The fuck?" face. I think Vin Diesel is excellent with physical acting. Facial expressions, body language, all that. His vocal acting isn't all that special, but he puts so muchinto a look. The main reason I loved Fast and the Furious -- the eyefucking, man. It was all about the eye fucking.
But I digress. Yeah, dude. The ending. Stupid leader. At least if he'd let his second in command kill him his culture could still have gone on. But with Riddick killing him? And that whole philosophy -- "You keep what you kill." Kill the king, keep the kingdom.
Was I the only one giggling, "OMG it's Cupid! And he looks just like Strife!" Yeah? Just me? Okay. Gotta lay off the Xena&Hercules slash.
On the one hand, I'd say Pitch Black was the better movie. On the other hand, I'd say it was like comparing apples and oranges. The whole point of the movie was completely different. The first, I think, was more about human drama in the context of a sci-fi film. This was more about a comic book epic in the context of a sci-fi fiml.

The movie had flaws, but all the pretty makes up for it. How about when Vin twirls down on that chain in the prison? Oh, GOD.
I was bummed they couldn't get the same actress who played Kira in Pitch Black. And I'm still wondering why this one would have long hair in a prison where it'd make an easy pull toy. But, yeah, I agree about her dying. Had to happen.

It's cause they wanted to feminize her, I suspect. They gave her a girlier name. And if you notice, the original actress could almost pass for a boy. She was really androgynous.
Also the original baldness was only because she was fangirling Riddick. It makes sense that she'd reject that after she grew up feeling betrayed by him.
And didn't you ever watch Zena? Long hair isn't always a disadvantage. You can get it wet and bitchslap people with it.
