Back to School; RPS Update

Classes started today. Physics. Chemistry. I think I'm going to like the Physics prof. There's a small chance the class may not have room for me. *crosses fingers* Chemistry was interesting. We just covered some really basic stuff. When he touched on atoms he brought up atom imaging from some guy in IBM.
The weirdness? I actually went to a seminar thingie once last spring where the guy from IBM was giving his own talk and using the same picture slides I saw today. Only of course he wasn't referring to some guy that did the imaging, but to himself.
evenstarjuliet, you might remember -- with the whole spiel on small computer circuits and him putting those atoms in a ring and creating a quantum corral.
Fun stuff.
So my Physics class was mostly sophomores, I think. The Chem class was mostly freshmen. Funny how you can always tell who the freshmen are. They must give off vibes. Tomorrow I'll have a talk with the GSI (whatever the hell that stands for) to see about fitting myself into the Chem class.
Apparently I'm going to have to be doing a lot of early morning crap. *OMG h8*
Update on the RPS -- got a third and fourth opinion on my fic. Figured out basically what I'm going to do with it. Could take a few hours. Hopefully will have it up tomorrow morning, but I make no promises. All in all, I'm feeling good about the fic. I'll look back at all the drama later and chalk it up to a learning experience.
Getting this fic beta'd actually taught me a few things about my writing style that I didn't realize. Like, a lot of people, when they write in the first person, write with an audience in mind. Kinda like a theater monologue. They're writing in POV, but they're still thinking in the third person. When I write in POV I think in POV. I won't explain motivations for anything unless someone comes back and reminds me to. My first beta writes a lot like I do. My second beta is the exact opposite. Her writing is a lot more analytical. She's more into describing/explaining what's happening.
Huh. I just realized. I did my last vid the same way I wrote this fic. Instead of picking a song that would reveal Brian's underlying emotions, I just picked one that I thought sounded like him. Song choice: this is how Brian talks; clip choice: this is what Brian does -- let the audience figure out what his motivations are and what he's thinking on their own. I dunno how well that worked, but...*shrugs*
