Today I am posting works in progress. I know some people don't read WIP's. I'll tell you right now -- you're missing out. I love the fic I am reccing here today. Even if they never get finished, I'm still glad to have been able to read at least this much of them, because they are that good.

Why I love it: Because it is so. Very. Good. Brilliant Lex characterization. Brilliant Clark characterization, which isn't something I say often. The story is totally believable. These are the characters in the show. Just the plot is different. And the plot is fantastic. Also? Hot sex. And good angst. And hot sex.

Why I love it: And I repeat: Lex and Lana switch bodies. Imagine the possibilities. Good characterization, plot, etc. Clark is very...Clarkish. Poor Lex gets his head fucked with by Clark about ten times the usual mindfucking. Lana is less annoying than she is on the show, without being out of character.

Summary: Lionel decides that Lex is an unsuitable heir. He decides to replace him with a clone. Unfortunately, there's something deeply wrong with the new Lex. Meanwhile, the original has secretly been taken in by the Kents. NC-17; 1440 KB
Why I love it: Plot. I'm in awe of the plot. Now, I get bored easily. This fic is the length of a few novels. I'm still dying to know what happens next. I love the way the author makes an interesting plot and at the same time realistically develops a romantic relationship between Clark and Lex. The characterization is good. Here is another author who knows how to create a good original character. Eli -- Lillian Luthor's personal bodyguard, and now Lex's. He has a fairly important role in the fic -- and he makes sense for the fic.

Summary: AU. So Superman's just flying around town doing thing when he glances down and *bam* -- love at first sight. He goes to class the next day only to realize that said man is in fact Lex Luthor, his college chemistry professor, single parent and disinherited son of Lionel Luthor. Clark comes to the conclusion that someone up there really doesn't like him. NC-17; 443 KB
Why I love it: Because Pru can sell anything. I love everything she writes. I even love the shit that she writes in fandoms I've never heard of. And this fic? BROKE ME. If this didn't happen to be internet fanfiction, I would be pimping it at everyone I met and owning my very own hardback copy that I bought for $34.95. Even if she never finishes it I will keep re-reading it and loving it.

Summary: Lex has a test tube baby made with his and Clark's DNA. This is comic book CANON. Finally, an author latched onto this CANONICAL FACT and decided to write fic about it. PG-13; 229 KB
Why I love it: *points at premise* Seriously. Also, the author has this talent for creating original characters that are both likeable and believable. And a kid who's half Lex, half Clark? Who wouldn't love that? The characterization is very well done. The plot sucks you in. BONUS! I think this one she might actually finish.


I tend to read fic straight off SSA and the archive only accepts completed fic. These are the only five WIP's I know of in the fandom. I know of them mostly through word of mouth. Good fic tends to circulate.

Now that my interest in SV has been sparked anew this season, a friend directed me over here, saying that your masterlist included a lot of must-read clex recs. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I really appreciate you taking the time to record your faves and share it with us newbies. I'm especially happy that The Identical Series made your list, as it's quickly become my favorite of the handful of clexy stories I've read thus far.
