Ooooo!

As long as they keep in the Oompa Loompa song, I'll be a very happy girl.

If you're talking about the old movie, then yes. If you're talking about the book, then I think Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are the best chance there is of getting across what Roald Dahl originally intended. I love the original movie, but it's a lot tamer than the book. I think Tim Burton could possibly capture that delicate combination of charming and creepy.

good point, I haven't read that book in ages, and I should do so prior to seeing the film.

Roald Dahl is so brilliant.

Oh, I'm all a-tingle! I'll keep an eye out for those, for sure.

I went to blockbuster today, hoping to rent S1 (cuz I didn't actually SEE most of it), but they didn't have it. Nor did they have S1 Everwood (which [livejournal.com profile] bigboobedcanuk tells me I *must* see). I was a little bummed, no television to let myself be sucked into.

ITA. My son and I are reading this chapter by chapter every night, and it's an AWESOME book, and nothing like the movie thanks to Gene Wilder's ego. I can't wait.
