So, like, I was looking through my co-op server to see if they had Simon & Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence." They didn't, but they did have Paul Simon's Graceland album. OMG yay!!! This album came out the year after I was born. My mom used to play it all the time when I was little, since before I can remember. It was during his African influenced phase and has delightful beat complexity and it's warm and happy and sounds like home.

So I got especially addicted to "Crazy Love, Vol. II" today and decided I had to vid it. Tried to think and think of a fandom. Got an OC vidbunny for it that I threw out because it was decent, but it wasn't perfect. Then I was talking to wherethewind_ on IM and she told me how it was a crying shame that no one had ever vidded Almost Famous.

OMG. Perfect. Moodwise. Lyricswise. Source I'm already familiar with. Weeeeeeeee!

Almost Famous just happens to also be on the co-op server.

And the main character William is omgsocute. I'm now wondering how I failed to notice how omgsocute he is before. I just want to pinch his cheeks. Awwwww. The vid's from his POV. Basically a summary of the movie (which is also from his POV). I hope I can make it suitably understandable to people who haven't seen it.

So, like, yeah. Don't know what's happening with my Jay/Silent Bob vid just now. Do know that I'm in pretty heavy vid-farr right now over this vid. I've already figured out how I'm structuring it. I have 24 seconds done, and will try to get through half a minute before I got to bed. The song is 4:16. I've been working since about 6:00pm. Took a dinner break somewhere in there, checked my e-mail, read some fic, etc. but I put at least a good five hours in. Took a while to figure out how to style the beginning -- the first 12 seconds took forever, but I'm working a lot more quickly now.

I decided not to bother clipping -- cause ha ha! I have avisynth now! I don't have to! I never used to clip when I was on WMM (it crashed a lot). Now that I'm using avisynth I probably won't be clipping for movie vids ever again (and I won't even have to worry about crashing). Did I mention w00t? All your source are belong to me!!!

Okay, yeah, I'm not actually this nerdy in real life. Really. I swear. Stop smiling and nodding at me.

Where was I?

Vid. Right. So at the rate I'm going I'll probably finish my rough draft in 2-3 days (yay for winter vacation!). Any vidders on my flist who're willing to beta? Prior knowledge of the source would be greatly appreciated, but not required.
