Had a blast at the vid party at morgandawn's house yesterday. permetaform's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind vid is looking great and I got to see laurashapiro's beta of her Farscape vid. I don't know the character she was vidding but goddamn can that woman deliver a gutpunch. We also saw a very cool documentary on directors of photography in the film industry.

I spent much of the day burning stuff off my computer in preparation for my premieres and auction vid. I currently have 44.4 GB free and another 7.5 that I'll be removing within a week. Meanwhile I'll be trying to figure out what the hell is taking up the other ten gigs I want to free up.

About, oh, 10 GB will be on rotation while I try to work simultaneously on my premieres and auction vid. My schedule looks something like this -- premieres vid between now and mid June, auction vid during the month of june, female characters vid between mid June and the deadline.

At which point I will take a month off of school to sleep.

And work on Death Note vid.

But mostly sleep.



Tonight, I'll be ripping OC episodes. Wish me luck!

Re the remaining 10 GB: I find it's almost always render files. Does Premiere store them separately from the vid project? FCP does that, and I always forget to dump those files until I look at my drive and am all, WTF, where did all my disk space go?

I've gotten rid of my render files. I learned my lesson after the first vid I made on premiere and I ended up scouring my computer wondering what the hell was eating up 15 GB.

I'm thinking I'm going to just need to burn some of my year's worth of randomly downloaded picture and music files. Which means I'll have to sort through and organize said files. ::cringe::

Just under two years ago I was wondering how in the hell I was ever going to use up 74 GB. If I could go back in time, I think I would just pat myself patronizingly on the head.

It doesn't matter how much disk space you have you'll always end up filling it up and wondering what you#ve filled it up with and how you're goin to free the space.

I have over 500gb in my system currently... and yeah it's all nearing capacity.
