Because I need to procrastinate. Just a little.

Gia vid is, like, weird. It's weird in that I'm using effects I haven't used before that I didn't visualize in my head beforehand that I haven't seen anyone else use to my satisfaction and omg this vid is so *funny* looking. But not ugly. I don't think. Just funny looking. It's weird in that the beginning of the vid ended up a lot more lighthearted than I was expecting it. It's more lighthearted than the song -- at the beginning anyway. I'll more than make up for that by the end. But for now, the vid is all about girl power while the song is all about angst. The kind I like to call Courtney Love angst. Not exactly the most attractive kind of angst -- unless you're Angelina Jolie, and then everything looks attractive on you. But the vid is more lighthearted than the song, and makes the song sound more upbeat than it is and is that a good thing? I guess that's a good thing. Is that a good thing?

I've organized a style pattern. I was worried at first that I wouldn't know what to do with interspersing black and white footage, but as it turns out I'm dealing with it the same way I deal with timing -- I just stare at it till it looks right. So, all good there. I've done a few different styles in the first 50 seconds that hopefully I'll be able to stick with for the rest of the vid.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing for the credits.

Premiere is till bitching. I'm going to restart my computer in a second.

Wow, reading all that makes it sound like I'm being, like, a billion times more productive than I actually am.

[livejournal.com profile] laurashapiro, [livejournal.com profile] morgandawn -- can either of you beta?

You have Adobe Premiere? Which version? Because I have 6.0... and mine's being an ASS. As in, we're not letting you cross dissolve or use any other effect.

I have Adobe Premiere 7.0, which was always fairly stable until I started using it in conjunction with avisynth, which on one hand is the devil, but on the other allows me to vid straight from DVD without quality loss.

See my previous post for details.

In my media class, I think we used 7.0, and it was the most amazing thing I've ever used. 6.0 needs to burn at the stake. ::goes to fetch some kindle and matches::

Have you made music vids? 'Cause I'd love to see some. I'm working on my first at the moment, but (like I said) it's still being an ass.

LOL. Oddly enough I know a lot of people who use 6.5 and very much prefer it to 7.0. Or maybe people just tend to prefer the version they started on.

All my vids are in my LJ memories in chronological order. The first one isn't downloadable.

I lied. We used Pro 1.5 (my bad).

I'll be sure to see them in the morning. I'm falling asleep at the keyboard.

The last person I spoke to told me they were the same program. Or very similar, in any case. The Pro series is apparently much different from 6.5 and below.

arrgh! I've offered to beta another vidder's vid this next week. In case Laura does not read her LJ, send her an e-mail direct? I know she was very enthused about the vid.

I'd be happy to beta, but I'm busy this weekend (Pride). If you want me to look at it over the next week, though, I'm your girl.
