Busy, busy, busy
Jul. 14th, 2005 08:58 amSo, I slept about three hours night before last after inhaling about 400K of SGA fic (daaaaamn youuuuu
adrienne2 -- whyyyyyy) only to stumble into a pair of oversized jeans and a tank top and barely, barely make it to the first day of my art class (generally known around campus as Drawing Bootcamp) by 9:00am.
I then found out that there was a scheduling mixup and my class, in fact, began at noon (and lab finishes at 8:00pm -- *wince*). I *then* found out I had 10-15 hours of homework to complete by Friday (it I want an A, anyway -- we need to draw twenty things, 10 orgnanic, and ten not) . I have *no time* to work on any of that today. Luckily, there's a loophole in the syllabus that says as long as homework is turned in complete, it can be upgraded later on, hence I'm turning in 20 fastcrappy drawings (4 hrs at most, probably finished last minute tomorrow morning) that I will make all shiny and pretty over the weekend. I discussed it w/ the lab instructor, showing him 1 of what I considered fastcrappy and two of what I considered fully rendered (today's class had no regular lab, so we got started on the homework) and he said this was acceptable, so yay!
The goal of this class is to be able to make photorealistic drawings, the ultimate goal to be able to work in 3D for computer animation. Our instructor was a puppetmaker. Mostly commercial stuff. She did work on all the puppets in Nightmare Before Christmas, though her main focus was designing the zombies and all the bugs that made up Oogey Boogey.
I got home last night to find I had no internet, ran a defrag and a virusscan, then collapsed on my bed and slept for six hours, turned off my alarm, and slept for another three.
Internet has returned. Not that I'm going to be using it much, today.
Back to work.
