ETA: So hard disk seems to be intact. Windows XP is broken. Will need to reinstall it, I think. Am currently running random Linux operating system that resident computer guy gave me the CD for. Can't really save anything on my computer, but I did get beta of Mutability pt. 2 in a locked post on my lj, so I can finish writing the chapter directly in the lj "edit post" window, e-mail it out, whatevs.

Wow, that was kind of neat.
It's interesting to hear the voice of someone who you've only "known" by reading.
I SO SO SO hope you get your computer on line and everything is ok. Am really looking forward to reading the next chapter, although if your computer is toast, I'm sure the fic will be the least of your worries.

I wondered... that's a live distro, isn't it, you can run it straight from the disk? Supposed to be quite good, I believe :)

Yep! It seems to be working pretty well. Of course, I still want XP back, mainly because Adobe Premiere won't run on anything but Windows.
