Finished moving in yesterday. Stuff is mostly unpacked. Yeah, yeah, the fic's still not done. I totally thought moving was going to take one day, but then it took two.

fashes got a new monitor and gave me her old one. SHIIIIINY. No longer have to vid on 1024x768 resolution. EVER AGAIN OMG.

Similar concept to my The Fast and the Furious vid, which was about everything that went through Brian's head at the climactic moment at the end of the movie. This time, though, I think I will be able to pull off the idea better.

It's like, eeeeee! So excited about making this because I've been waiting for a good Rodney idea and it's hard to find a song with working lyrics and even harder to find a singing voice that doesn't clash with Rodney in my head. It even has Ford in there! And it is one of my favorite things to vid -- moments of decision. All the logic tied up with emotion tied up in choices that in hindsight weren't really choices at all. I love this Rodney. The song even has Ford in there -- See the pig dressed in his finest fine / And all the believers stand behind him and smile / Watch as the day lights up with fire. The lyrics are, aswistful_fever pointed out, just specific enough to tell the story I want, but ambiguous enough to twist meanings the way I want.
And I love that the vid is going to be all about how Rodney loves John. Because Rodney is all about how Rodney loves John. Even without the slash they are so hardcore BFF. And because this moment is all about Rodney doing something stupid and brave but mostly fucking stupid for John and he knows and still.

I love that about them SO MUCH. That Rodney does these insane things that he desperately doesn't want to do - because John needs him.

I think that this is one of the major things that I love about the John/Rodney dynamic, especially this season! Rodney finally seems to have someone who he can do these insane, stupid, risky things for! It so wonderful!
