This was so amazing. I came into Jeremiah late, but I'm so happy to see that I'm part of a trend and the fandom seems to be getting larger the longer it's been off the air rather than smaller, so it's so wonderful that people are still playing and creating in this universe. Discussion time at Vivid was short so I didn't comment then, but I did want to add that I found the vid terribly poignant and sad - a reflection of Kurdy's fragility rather than his resiliency. The vid seemed to suggest to me that it was Jeremiah's friendship which helped Kurdy get through each of his traumas and I felt that the greatest milestone was Jeremiah's disappearance from Kurdy's life - his last expression of dispair at the end seemed to prompt the question: after season one, who would be there to help Kurdy get through Jeremiah's absence/betrayls? Wonderful, touching, layered, and supremely memorable.

Yes! I was so sad that the show didn't continue *particularily* because I wanted to see them work through their issues and move past things like this - I really missed the friendship/buddy dynamic from the first season.

Of all the challenge vids, this one nailed the 'milestone' theme the best, imo. As I said to Flo in a previous post, thematically, every single vid in existence would more or less answer this challenge, considering vidders generally explore moments of transition/change via their creations.

But here, there was no need for stretching anything to fit the theme because the lyrics and clip choices *were* the theme.

I've never seen an ep of Jeremiah, but I felt the milestones, the losses, and felt them deeply. I don't know about Kurdy, but they broke *my* heart over and over again.

Some esp. notable sequences -

The first 'I look into your eyes' and his child-scrawled 'I'm alone.' *sobs*

'God' with the light washing over Jeremiah and Kurdy. Heh.

And then of course, the final 'When will I get the chance to say I love you, I pretend that you're already mine, That my heart ain't breaking every time I look into your eyes.' GAH!

The use of slo-mo when she gets shot and then her eyes and smile as she lays there rival Kurdy's heartbreaking fall to his knees in the closing moments of the vid.

And now, I must know, did Jeremiah betray Kurdy? Is he on the helicopter at the end? What happened next? Please tell me things eventually worked out for Kurdy!!!!!

alternately, this was one of the *first* bits vidded, and each time lierdumoa and I cracked up at that so we knew we got a winner with that clip placement. =D

::nods:: I was sorta mentally resistent to the idea of it being depressing because it's like an otp...but there's tragedy inherent in the world and it just worked with the song. ::flails:: why must it emo? whyyyy? ::tragic!expression::

Jeremiah didn't betray Kurdy, he got captured and is on that helicopter at the end. And...welllll...sort of? (He gets Jeremiah back if that helps =) )

I had this vid on my harddrive for ages but only now got around to watching it. And now i cannot even think of anything intelligent to say about it! Argh!
So I just wanted to let you know that it filled me right up with Kurdy love and made me miss Jeremiah so much. What a great show, what great characters. Seeing it in a vid like this makes it a bit more bearable that it was cancelled.

I had this downloaded before, when you first posted, but then I didn't remember and downloaded it again on the new computer when I saw it recced in the comments of Minnow's vid squee post. I can't remember if I've ever left feedback for it, though, so I just had to pop back over to say I LOVE this vid. :) (and now I have it on both computers, so I can enjoy it whenever I want!)

I just found this vid rec'd on crack_van and had to tell you that I loved it. I think it illustrates how Jeremiah balances Kurdy just as much as Kurdy does Jeremiah, and how Kurdy needs Jeremiah even at the points where their relationship is painful (like after Elizabeth died). I've never heard the song before; it was interesting and worked perfectly with the clips you chose. Thanks for sharing the vid!
