*falls over self giggling* This is fabulous. I've never heard this cover before, which is kind of a bit of double-take situation in and of itself, but... oh god, with the funny. The scene matching works really well, and the bit with the Smarties at 0.48 - perfectly timed. And Fraser in his longjohns at the "state looks down on sodomy" line. *shrieks*

The last shot is just so, so right, too.

Ooooh, you should definitely check out Richard Cheese. He does lounge music covers of all the songs that should never, ever have been turned into lounge music ever. My favorite is his cover of "Last Resort" by Papa Roach.

This is a really good vid, the lyrics and music synch up well.

But be warned, it loaded a xvid codec on my puter that didn't like windows and I spent the last thirty minutes trying to figure out why I wasn't able to even access any of my vids at all after I DL'd your vid. After I removed that codec, everything worked fine, and I was able to watch the vid.

As for your technical problems -- I might be able to shed some light on that.

I did not include a codec in the download. Even if I had, it wouldn't have installed itself automatically. Xvid must have already been downloaded and installed on your computer, and had probably been sitting there dormant for a while. My vid does try to use xvid to play because that is the codec I used to make it. If xvid is not installed (in your case, you deleted it), my vid can also play with the divx codec.

Sometimes different video codecs can interfere with each other's performance (note: this does not generally happen when you download individual codecs as needed, but it can be a problem when you download multiple codecs in a codec package). It sounds like this was the only time xvid caused you problems. That's probably because this was the only time the codec was active.

It's possible that the xvid codec you had was a corrupted version/got corrupted at some point while it was on your computer. It's also possible that for some reason or other, your computer simply doesn't like the xvid codec. I'm positive, however, that the problem did not originate with you downloading my vid.

You could be correct on the xvid not being activated until your vid looked for it.

When I researched the problem the windows help site said that windows and xvid had a compatibility problem that hadn't been resolved yet.

It looks like that codec was DL'd by my daughter when she had this computer sometime between June and Aug. of 2004. So, yep I didn't get it from the DL of your vid. SORRY.

But boy I sure did freak when I couldn't play any of my vids. phew.

First of all, loove the song! Both versions work for me and it really fits RayK. The clips you chose were great and too funny throughout. I loved the interplay between Ray, Stella and Fraser especially around the call part. I loved the expressions and movement and the little ways the visuals matched the music. Favorite clip was the ADD clip and how it matched the motion in the one before. I really enjoyed the video, thanks for making :)

You can now buy due South on DVD for $20 for each of the three seasons (new Platinum DVDs - older Alliance Atlantic DVDs are more expensive). You can find the Platinum DVDs at many national chain stores (Best Buy, etc.) and online.

As to torrents, before the Platinum DVDs came out last year, someone was posting torrent info on ds_noticeboard. I've no idea if there are any current torrents, but you might check through recent entries there.

On Amazon seasons 1, 2, and 4 are about $40 each, and season 3 is $66.

On Best Buy season 1 and 2 are $67 each, season 3 is $55, and season 4 is about $40 lol.
