misswindy has updated "Through the Wire"! Ch. 8 (the final chapter) is up. *Squeeeee!*

If you haven't read the fic, here's your chance. Go read it NOW. I don't care if you don't watch Everwood. I don't care if you don't read fanfiction.

Well, I suppose if you're a homophobe you might want to avoid this one.

But otherwise, there is no excuse.

The story's about a longtime couple leaving home together after a highschool romance. One's going to college. One's looking for work. It's a not so classic romance with likeable characters, the appropriate amount of angst, the perfect degree of fluff, and quite a bit of yummy guy/guy action (but before you get scared, let me assure you it's nothing too explicit). The story's not embedded in the show, and is perfectly readable without any background information.

Even you could read it, evenstarjuliet. Even you.



Now that I think of it, I know of another really good fic that you, my roomate, could appreciate. It's called "String Theory" (although to my chagrin actually has absolutely nothing to do with string theory -- not even tangentially). It's by rageprufrock. It belongs to the Smallville fandom (WB show about Clark Kent before he was Superman). Much like "Through the Wire," it requires no background information to read. The plot actually has nothing to do with the show, but the characterization's spot on. The story takes place during the time when Clark Kent attends college (so we can somewhat relate).

The problem? Well, this fic is...how shall I say...really fucking long. Long as in 71,125 words, which translates to roughly 280 pages. And it isn't even finished.

However, I'm convinced that anyone who even *started* reading this piece of fanfiction would be so absorbed in the storyline that they would *make time* to read it, and eventually finish. Eventually.
