I have started to do a Wednesday Five post. I would do a Friday Five post, but I figure humpday needs goodfic more than the happiest day of the workweek.
So. As you may know, I have a TON of SV fics in my favorites folder. The list is far too large and intimidating to recc all at once.
permetaform suggested I turn it into a weekly thing.
These fics are CLex unless I state otherwise.
[MASTERLIST]
Promise and it's sequel Not Yet by Ruby
Summary: Rift? What Rift? Lex and Clark take the long road from friends to lovers. Features an assassination attempt and some artificial intelligence and Clark slapping Lionel's hand away from Lex when he goes in for some bad touching. PG-13; 404 KB
Why I love it: Good characterization. Brilliant plot development. Totally believable, and the story is interesting to boot.
Alexander and the Mirror by
cjandre
Summary: Interesting crossover with a dark fairytale. I asked the author where she found the fairytale and it turns out she made it up for the purposes of this fic. Lex gets an enchanted (read: possessed) gift for his birthday. Clark saves him from it. Unfortunately Lex doesn't hit in the head hard enough to pass the whole thing off as a hallucination. Truths come out. NC-17; 152 KB
Why I love it: Really fascinating idea for a story. Good characterization. Mind bendy. The fic has a very droll humor to it, especially at the end.
Two Halves by Dolimir
Summary: AU. Lex was found by Clark instead of Lionel after the meteor shower. He was raised by the Kents. He had some latent telepathy that was modified by the meteor shower and his relationship with Clark. Lionel worms his way back into Lex's life and everything goes to hell. But of course, not even Lionel Luthor can thwart destiny. NC-17; 188 KB
Why I love it: Again, really fascinating idea for a story -- and it works. Thorough characterization. Complex plot, well developed.
Huitlacoche by
velvetglove
Summary: Gen, mostly. Features some CLex. What happened to all those meteor mutants after they ran into Clark? This is their story. NC-17; 72 KB
Why I love it: It's really insightful. I love that someone took the effort to develop all these characters and did it well and with such style. This fic is totally believable in the context of the show. It's kind of dark and fucked up and yet hopeful.
Switch: A Comedy of Terrors by RivkaT
Summary: Due to an accident involving kryptonite, Clark and Lex switch bodies. Wackiness ensues. NC-17; 200 KB
Why I love it: It's perfect. Take that plotbunny and imagine the best possible fic that could be written with it. This is that fic. Brilliant plot development and characterization. Kinky sex in the way that only body swapping can be kinky. Daddy issues! And did I mention brilliant plot development?
100 KB approx. 17000-18000 wds. Yes, a lot of these fics that I will be reccing are *LONG.* This fandom taught me to speed read.
